DONNYBROOK The Carolina Jubilee Singers en- tertained a large and appreciative adu- ience in Donnybrook Church on Sat- urday evening, sponsored by the W. M. S. The first part of the program was composed of songs that these people and their forefathers sang in their own churches- The second part was solos and readings from the pen of the renowned negro poet, Paul Lawrence Dunbar, The last part was a presentation of plantation melodies for which the Characters were dress- ed in typical plantation customes and the singing was accompanied by mus- ic on a guitar. The next meeting of the Women's Institute will be held at the home of the President, Mrs. R. H, Thompson on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 6th, when the members will entertain thei rhusbands. The blaze spread so rapidly that it was impossible to fight the fire and prac- tically the entire season's crop was lost. Threshing was almost complet- ed when the fire occurred.
