BELMORE
The Community Hall was the scene
of a large social gathering Tuesday
evening, almost seventy being pres-
ent when the Young People of the
United Church had as their guests the
Young People of the Presbyterian
Church. The first part of the evening
was their regular meeting. The Miss-
es Stokes supplied the music on the
piano, violin and guitar. After this,

the Hall. •

Mr. Horse, Missionary, China, will
lecture in the . United Church, Friday

their friends to a fowl supper Mon-
day evening, a danee"feeing held in

DONNYBROOK
The Carolina Jubilee Singers en-
tertained a large and appreciative adu-
ience in Donnybrook Church on Sat-
urday evening, sponsored by the W.
M. S. The first part of the program
was composed of songs that these
people and their forefathers sang in
their own churches- The second part
was solos and readings from the pen
of the renowned negro poet, Paul
Lawrence Dunbar, The last part was
a presentation of plantation melodies
for which the Characters were dress-
ed in typical plantation customes and
the singing was accompanied by mus-
ic on a guitar.
The next meeting of the Women's
Institute will be held at the home of
the President, Mrs. R. H, Thompson
on the evening of Wednesday, Nov.
6th, when the members will entertain
thei rhusbands.
Mr. and Mrs, G. A. MacLaughiin,
of Detroit, were week -end visitors at
hehome of her mother, Mrs. Jos.
Chamney.
Miss Donna Armstrong, of London,

Fire from Blower Causes Fire
A ball of fire from the blower while
threshing is believed to have caused'
the fire that razed Jack Harvey's barn
near Tralee Monday afternoon. The
blaze spread so rapidly that it was
impossible to fight the fire and prac-
tically the entire season's crop was
lost. Threshing was almost complet-
ed when the fire occurred. Although,
