Friday night was presided over by
Carman Hetherington.
The devotional and business periods
were followed by a fine report of Y.
P. S. Presbyterial gatherings, as
found in "The Gleam," and read by
Miss Einina Johnston, Miss Donna
Smith favoured with a pleasing solo
and Mrs. A. Aitkin ably led the dis-
cussion on "The right use of money."
The officers for the ensuing year
were elected, and are as follows:

Institute Had Fine Meeting,
A pleasant afternon was enjoyed
on Thursday December 13th. when
Mrs. Alex Mowbray was hostess for
the Woman's Institute, being the
Christmas month the programme
throughout was in keeping with the
season. The President, Mrs. S. '. N,
Gallahar presided. Correspondence
consisted of a letter from the depart-
ment regarding the Government grant

was most appropriate for this season
of gift giving and receiving and RIO
greatly enjoyed,
A Christmas reading by Miss
Margaret Curtiss. Carol'singing led
by Miss Donna Snaith, and a exhibit
of useful Christmas gifts was a part
of the programme. After singing the
National Anthem, Miss Dorothy
Greenway assisted the hostess, serv-
ing delicious refreshments.
Miss Lela Leggatt of 'Whitechurh
spent the week -end iwth her cousin,
Miss Alba Mowbray.'
James McHardy spent a few days
this week in Brussels.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Moffatt are en-
joying a visit with' friends at Kings-
ville. '
Miss Elizabeth Robertson went to
Toronto this week where, she has se-
cured a position.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bosman are in
Wingham with their daughter, Mrs.'
R. H. Lloyd. Mr. Bosman is not en-:
joying good health and is under the
doctor's care.
Mrs. Neil B. Eachern and baby
Louise of Mount Forest are with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Garniss,
Mrs. Burns Moffatt and son Floyde
are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Powell

of Mr. William Thornton.

While .playing hockey on our lo•'al
rink Saturday afternoon, Ernie Rob-
inson had the misfortune to have his
leg broken.
Municipal nominations will be held
in \'Ietnorial Hall, Dec. 20th, in the
event of an. election, polling will take
pace Tuesday, Jan. 1st.
The annua White Gift service was
held Sunday evening in Queen Street
Church. The pageant "The Good Tid-
ing" was presented by members of
the Sunday School. Clothing and
money were .spent to Shamrock, Sou-
thern Saskatchewan, for the needy
families in dried -out areas. .
Mrs. Robert Whiteman, while
working in her home, fell backwards
off a step ladder „and hurt herself
severely.
Mr. Wrn. Johnston spent a few days
with his daughters in .Toronto.
