Brick United Church brought a very
successful year to a close with a ban-
quet, which was held at the hone of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson.
Thirty-three people sat down to a
very daintily arranged supper, after

The Presbyterian Church will hold
theirs on Wednesday 'evening in the
Church.
The Young People of McIntosh
Church met at the home of Mr, and
Mrs, Russel Nichol on Monday even-
ing, and showered them with many
useful articles. Mr. and Mrs. Nichol
made a very suitable reply.
Judging by the many dances held
in the vicinity the shoe merchants
should do a thriving business.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil .McNeil enter-
tained relatives and a few friends at
their home, One 'evening last week.
The cast journeyed to Ripley Tues-
day evening and again presented their
play, if they lose niuuch More beauty
sleep' they can't live up to their ideals.
Mrs. Jack Reid returned from
Wingham Sunday.

Harris, which was held from her late
residence Mildmay, on Monday to
McIntosh Cemetery.

The Christmas Tree Concert held
in the United Church here on 'P+riday
evening was very successful and a
good crowd was present, all enjoying
the program of recitations, drills,
pantotnines,p lays and choruses.
The school concerts are being held
on Friday this week, and the Presby-
terian Conceit on Thursday evening.

Gaunt, in the chair. After the open-
ing exercises, the roll call was an-
swered by a gift to the Shelter at

The First Noel; Mrs. T, IT. Moore
gave a reading, A French Christmas
Greeting. The Misses Carrick sang a
duet, The Song of the Ages; Mrs.
Walter Lott gave a Xmas reading and
Miss Susan Carrick played a piano
solo. Mrs: Frank Henry then read a
Christmas story and all sang "It came
upon the midnight clear, that wond-
rous song of old." The ladies decided
to hold a Euchre at 8.$0 on Thursday.

Display Contest
The window display contest con-
ducted by the Coleman Lamp and
Stove Co., Ltd., between Oct. 20th
and 31st, had many entries. Reginald
Sutton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Sutton, who served his hardware ap-
prenticeship with Buchanan's Hard-
ware, and who is now with Curry's
Hardware, Orangeville, won second
place to win a prize of $25.00.
