"MISS WAWANOSH"
(Miss Zelia Cook was crowned Miss
Wawanosh at the. Old' Boys' Reunion,
No. 13, East Wawanosh, on July 25,
1934.)
"Miss Wawanosh" is crowned,
On this jolly old playground—
The fairest of the maidens—"sweet
sixteen",
She's of the royal line,
Two family names combine,
And we'll honour her again, I ween.
Limber as willow rod;
Teeth even as peas in pod;
And her faery eye -brows almost meet.
She likes the snow and sun,
With a freckle, just for fun,
Which could season any kisses sweet -
Our hills are grand and steep;
The woods stand high and deep; .
And the golden fields are like a pic-
ture rare.
"Miss Wawanosh", our pride,
Native of winds and tide
Beauty and Health, indeed make her
their heir. A. L_ Budge -
