Cubs Defeat Aces in Second Game.
The second game of the playoffs.
for the "B" class was played Friday
night, in the record time of 45 min-
utes. The Cabs, behind the pitching
of "Jake" Templeman, administered a
walloping to the Aces, 8-4, and tied
the series. making a third game ne-
cessary. The Cubs would have been
tough opposition for any team Friday.
night, and if they play that brand of
ball the Aces will have their hands
full in the third game.
Third Game of (Play -Offs
The third game of the "A" Class
play-offs is scheduled for 5.00 sharp
this afternoon (Wednesday). The
game was called for this time sq that
nothing could interfere with it, and as
these two teams, Transport Oil and
Silvertowns, are old rivals, and both
capable teams, a• real game should be
the result. No natter which way the
game goes, it will be a battle royal
and will be worth while seeing.

A PLEASANT TRIP
On Wednesday afternoon we drove
through Listowel and Elmira to Kit-
chener. We stayed over nght at a
hotel and noticed that enough noise
came from the beverage room below
to prevent any sleep until after 12.00
o'clock: Next day we drove through
a splendid strip of country, Waterloo
and Oxford counties, to London. The
last of this season's crop was being
gathered in on almostevery farm,
From London we drove to Chatham
calling on Hec. Fry, the well-known
manager of the Bus Terminal. No-
where did we find green gasoline sell-
ing for less than 26c and filling up at
Sarnia we paid $1.05 for 5 gallons.
Of course we told at dozens of sta-
tions where we called, how best green
gas was dispensed up north at 25c.
From Sarnia we took the Blue Wat-
er Highway through the celery beds
and pines, of interest last week. be-
