Hon. J Eric Norm
of the Suprente Court of Ontario, for-
met Crown Attorney of Toronto and
the County of York, and- Courts- Mar-
tial Officer of the Canadian Corps in
France during the war, died sudden-•
ly Sunday of 3 heart, attack at his 1'U,-.
idence, 87 Castle Frank Road. He was.
.57 years old. It is less than a year

since he was anointed a Judge of the
Supreme Court. - .• '
Mr. Justice Aemour, who had -i ars
lied With him to the Bench the 'friend-
ship of thousands who continued tO ,
know him only as Major Eric, was
the last surviving son of the late chief
Justice Armour of Ontario. The car-
eer of the son had closely paralleled
that .of the father:, both, were Uppe'r
, Canada College boys; both graduated
I from the 'University of Toronto and
I the Law School of the Law Society
t0f tipper Canada, each served as a
I crown Attorney, each was appolnted
la 'counsellor to the Crown and made a
Bencher of the Law Society, and each
was elevated to the Bench of the stone

' Mrs. R. J. Powell
There passed away in the v.illage
Blyth on Wednesday, March 7th,
a beloved and highly respected citizen
in. the person of Laura Elsie, wife of
R. J. . Powell, merchant. While not
enjoying good health for. some time
it was only a couple of months ens;
that her condition became critical. Of
a pleasing- personality, she made many
friends in this loe'ality who sincerely

regret her passing. •born at Carleom
Place, Lanark County, Mrs. Powell
came to this vicinity when a child
with her parents; the late Thomas and
Mrs. Code, ,being raised in the town-
ship of Morris, and for the last sevs
enteen years had been a resident of
