BLUEVALE
Special Christmas messages were
delivered from the pulpits of the two
churches on Sunday morning by the
Pastors, Rev, Wm, Patterson and
Rev. A. V. Robb.
The service in the United Church
Sunday evening was specially arrang-
ed. for the Christmas season in the
form of a song service. Passages of
Scripture pertaining to the birth of
Christ,. were read by the Pastor, Rev.
A. V. Robb, accompanied by approp-
riate hymns and anthems by the choir,
a solo by Miss B. Thornton, aduet
"Away in a Manger" by Mrs. Fraser
and Miss D. Smith, and "We Three
Kings" rendered by young men. The
service throughout was of a most im-
pressive nature.
This district had the usual number
of social events for. the Christmas sea-
son. Tuesday evening the pupils and
young people, in: the Kirton school
section, put on a splendid programme
in the school house, the children tak-
ing their parts in amost encouraging
manner. A goodly part of the success
of the entertainment was due to the
untiring efforts of the teacher, Miss
Deans,
Thursday evening the school room
of Knox Presbyterian Church was
well-filled, to enjoy the Christmas so-
cial finder the auspices of the Sunday
School. The'chair was ocepuied by
the pastor, Rev. Wm Patterson, who
introduced a good program after
which the ladies of the congregation
served coffee, sandwich and cookies.
Friday evening the Young People
of Browntown, presented a play which
was well received by a full house,.
The Young People of Browntown
have earned a splendid reputation for
their dramatic ability. Orchestra'mu-
sic was a pleasing addition to the pro-
gramane.
The `United Church Sunday School
held their Christmas Tree and Con-
cert in the Foresters' Hall and were
greeted by a good crowd. The chair
Was occupied by Mr. Robert Shaw.
The prograin consisted of, choruses
and recitations. The main feature was
a Christmas Playette presented by the
younger children of the Sunday
School, which was exceedingly well
rendered and much enjoyed.
The Foresers' Hall was well filled
on 'Friday evening n and enjoyed tale.

The arrangements this week were un-
der the management of the residents
of the 4th concession, 'Turnberry.
Many of the Christmas visitors in the
district were present and enjoyed the

Christmas entertainments when the
Young People of the Presbyterian
Church held their Christmas Tree and
program in the Foresters' Hall on
Monday evening. The program con-
sisted of short drills by the children,
recitations, a pantornine by the older.
