ilton, spent the week -end with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Reed.
Mr. and Mrs. George Garton, Olive
and George, spent the week -end at
the home of their daughter, Mrs. A.
Holland, of Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Reid returned
on Friday to their home in Brantford.
Mrs. Murray motored with them and
is visiting with friends in Paris and
London.
The W.M.S. of the United Church-
held
hurchheld a tea at the hone of Mrs. J. D.
Beecroft on Wednesday last. A• mis-
sinoary program wds given and Mrs.
Gillespie and Mrs. Reed sang a duet.
Lunch was served and a social half-
hour was enjoyed by all.
Miss Doris McClenaghan spent last
week with her aunt, Mrs. Dobie of
Wingham.
Mr. Andrew Thompson, Lucknow,
and Mr. Malcolm Ross spent the
week -end with •friends in Toronto.
The ladies of the Women's Insti-
tute held a very successful afternoon
tea in the Hall on

Mr. James Wilson and Mr. Harry
Bateman spent the week -end at To-
ronto and attended the Ex.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Harriston and
son, Wilfred, of Mitchell, spent last
week -end with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Menzies, and Wilfred
stayed to holiday for the week.
Our, countryside is very smoky
these days. Mr, Andrew Gaunt burn-
ed down two stumps near his bush
and the fire went underground and
has been burning in his good bush.
Several of the burning trees have fal
len across the road on the 12th con.,
and the road boss has been busy re-
moving them.
Mr. Wm. Bailie and Miss. Mabel
Bailie of Goderich, visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Beecroft
.on Thursday last.
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer of Hamilton
are visiting this week at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Davidson.
Mr. Walter Lott visited for a few
days last week with friends at Pine
River and Ripley.
Mr. Nat Thompson has
work at Tiverton and in his

with Mrs. Lott.
Mr. and Mrs. Hyles and family and
Mr. Lorne Hyles of Atwood spent
Sunday last at 'the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Leggatt, and Master
Gordon Leggatt visited last week
with relatives in Teeswater.
Mr, and Mrs. John Gillespie visit-
ed on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. C.
Gillespie of Holyrood. Little Miss
Betty has been very ill with septic
sore throat, but is recovering now.
Dr. and Mrs. H. A. Hession and
family, .Mrs. Walter McBryan and
her neice; Miss Betty Reid, of Tor-
onto, spent Monday with their sister,
Mrs. J. B. Morrison and Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Forsythe who have been in
London, are visiting with her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Morrison. "
Mr. Orville Tiffin spent Monday
playing horse -shoes at Gorrie tourna-
ment.
Mr, and Mrs. Amos Cornelius and
Mr. Wm. Kelly spent Sunday with
het sister, Mrs. Sam' Westlake at Bay-
field and at Grand Bend.
Don't forget the regular meeting of
the Women's Institttte to be held at
the Home of Mrs. Wesley Leggatt on
Friday. The Grandmothers will have
charge of the program.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Shiell of East
Wawanosh, and Mr. and Mrs, Mil-
ton Mei3urney, of Windsor, have just
returned ,from a week's motor trip.

Cameron Geddes has returned to
Chatham after spending two weeks'
