Mr. and, Mrs. Clarence Cox spen
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. David
Brown, of West Monkton and little
Jack Sprung of Londesboro, returned
with them to spend a few days here
Mr. Wm. Stewart and his his bride
from Lanark are spending this week
with Mr. and Mrs. Leask McGee and
other E. Wawanosh relatives.
Miss Agnes Gillespie is spending
this week in Kinlough with her aunt,
Mrs. Chas. Gillespie,
Miss. Olive Currie is. in Wingham
Hospital suffering from an abcess,
and her father, Mr. John T. Currie;
is' suffering from a felon on his fin-
ger.

Some excitement was caused in the
village on Thursday morning when
the engine of Mr. Fred Davidson's
threshing outfit got too near to the
ditch and it slipped off'the road ac-
ross from the manse. Quite a crowd
gathered quickly and with block and
tackle and jacks, it was soon back on
the 'road again and able to proceed
on its way.
The Misses Simpson who have been
visiting at the' home of Mr. Harry
Bateman, visited at Kintail with their
uncle, .Dr. Simpson, on Tuesday last.
BALL TEAM WON
AT ACTON. 9-2
On Saturday afternoon the baseball
team journeyed to Acton and defeat-
ed the Acton team 9 to 2. The local
team was fortified by the Teeswater
battery of Boulay and Doran. Doran
caught a good game and made three
hits. Only foul• hits were made off
Boulay in 8 innings. Joe Tiffin pitch-
ed the last inning. Three home runs
were bit, one each by Somers, Led-
iet and Doran.
