Cox on Wednesday last, when the
ladies quilted 'a quilt.' Lunch then

returned to her position in North

ing this week camping at Kincardine.
Mr. Amos Cornelius and other
Whitechurch men took in the horse
races at Goderich on' Monday,
Mr. Harry McClenaghan, Belgrave,
visited on. Sunday at the home of
Mr, and Mrs. Robt. McClenaghan.
Mr., Clarence McClenaghan return-
ed from Wingham Hospital last Mon
day and is improving' nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Kelce, Kan-
sas City, who has been visiting E,.
'vVawanosh relatives, took the boat
trip from Buffalo to Duluth, while
her mother, Mrs. St. John and their
son, Bob, left on Monday to join
them in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller of St. Helens
and their daughter, Mrs. Sparks and
daughter, Eileen, Dorchester, visited
last Sunday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Thos. Gaunt.
This week will see the end of the
harvest on a good many farms in this`
district. The grain is short and the
stooks "seem to be few and far be-
tween in many of the fields.
Mrs. Cameron Sr., of Lanark, and
Mr. and Mrs. Ab. Cameron, of Ash-
field, spent Sunday at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Pardon.
Miss Lorna McClenaghan is at her
home here, after spending the past
few weeks in Morris.
Rev. Mr. Burgess, Lucknow, prea-
ched very acceptably in Chahner's.

Seriously Hurt in Fall
A very unfortunate accident befell
Harvey Stapleton, son of Mr. :and
Mrs, E. Stapleton, last week, while
he was engaged at work in London,
he fell from a tree and suffered seri-
ous injury, to his back. He is con-
fined, to Hospital in London,
Jack and Ruth Mitchell who have
spent the past two weeks with their,
aunt, Miss Cela Coultes; have return -
to ,their home at Rothsay.
Mr. G. Black, Miss Watson and
Miss Clara Young were week -end
visitors with the latter's sister, Mrs.
Earle Anderson and family.
A number from here attended the
opening of the new bridge at Lon-
desboro on Wednesday.
C. R, Coultes received a ,car of
western cattle on Thursday.
Mrs. Sainsbury is a visitor with her
sister, Mrs. C. Keating.
