Afterwards ,the children had a. peanut scramble and those winning in the games were presented with prizes. Lunch was then served and a social time was inuclr enjoyed by all, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kirk, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Francis and Thel- ma Creighton .visited on Monday last at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. D. Beecroft. Miss Florence returned with them to spend a few days with Thelma and Pearl Creighton, Mr. and Mrs. Chas, Wightman and Miss May spent. Sunday at Blyth at- tending the anniversary services and visiting with their daughter, Mrs. Brigham. A splendid meeting of the W,M,S. of Chain-ter's Church was held at the home of Mrs. A. Emerson on Friday last when members were invited from Calvin and Langside societies also. The President, Mrs. Coulter, was in the chair and a splendid program was given and Mrs. R. McWhinney from Dungannon also addressed the meet- ing. Afterwards lunch was served and Mrs. Emerson treated all to ice- cream. A social half-hour was much enjoyed by all. Mrs. David Kennedy motored on Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. W. J.. Henderson ' of Wingham to Pus- linah to attend the family picnic be- ing held in remembrance of one hun- dred years ago, when the first family of Kennedys arrived in this country. M.r and Mrs. Russel Reid, Brant- ford, are, visiting with his mother, Mrs. Reid, in the village. Mrs. Dr. Patterson, of Lucknow, spent the weekend with Miss Ida McQuoid. Rev. Mr. Burgess of Lucknow will take the services in Chalmer's church here next Sunday. ' Don't forget the social to be held at the home of Mr. Lance Grain on Thursday evening under the auspices of the Anglican Church, Wingham. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Farrier and family spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. McWhinney, of Ashfield, Mr. Fred Newman, of Hamilton, motored up to Mr. B. S. Naylor's and _ spent the week -end with his wife and family who have been spending a few weeks there. Mrs. Morrison, of Bluevale, spent the week -end with Mrs. Fox and re- newed old acquaintances in the vill- age. Rev. and Mrs. Graydon Cox and Mr. Earle Cox, of Pangman, Sask., motored from the West last week, ar- riving at his home at Palmerston on Friday. They and Mr. and Mrs. 'D. Cox of Palmerston visited on Satur- day at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Mac Ross. Mrs. 1VIcBrien is ..spending this week at the home of her son, Mr, Oliver McBrien of Auburn. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Holland and children of Kitchener spent the week- end with her parents, Mr. end LVfrs. George Garton. Miss Jean Coulter, 'of Wingham, took in the Institute picnic on Wed- nesday last. Mr. and Mrs. Jatk Henderson and children, of Paramount, spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. MacGregor. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Green left on Wednesday last for their home in North Bay and Miss Ann Henry left on Saturday for her position in New York. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Ross spent Monday .last at Seaforth and her mo- ther, Mrs .Haig accompanied them, home and will spend a few weeks here. Mrs. Martin and little daughter, of Wingham, spent Wednesday last. with, her aunt, Mrs. Frank Coulter. Mrs. Morris, of Hamilton, visited last week with Mrs. Fred Davidson,. and on Sunday, Mrs. Davidson and her son, Jim, visited with her sister, Mrs. Mitchell of Turnberry. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hall and "Mrs: Elgin Wellwood, Miss Norah Falcon- er and Mr. Arthur Cronin of Caledon, spent the week -end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Falconer.
