to the inexperienced. It has develop-

Worse .and More of It
A western. editor apologized for a
typographical error which made him
describe a citizen as a "defective on
the police force" saying it should
have been understood that he really
meant "a detective on the police
farce." Reminds •us of the "battle-
scarred" veteran who was first des-
cribed by Bill Fry's Dunnville Chron-
icle 'as "bottle -scarred" and in the
correction as "battle -scared."
At "Why don't you show your wife
who's' master of the house?"
B.. "She knows."
"Oh, doctor, will you Blease come
along at once? my husband has an-
other of his bad fits," the wife 'an -
pealed.
The doctor at once started to snake
preparatioits for departure, and pre-
sently reached the patient's bedside,
After he had examined the than, he
turned to the wife and said somewhat
testily;
"'iJ by ntic' citon-

"Well," was the good reason th
lady gave for her delay, "as long a.
ite had his. senses ha wouldn't let me.send for yowl"
