A pleasant afternoon was spent on

ered at the home of Miss Ella 'Barn-
ard for the annual' meeting of the

Mrs. Alex. Mowbray, presided. The
correspondence resulted in some it-
ems of business being carried. The
Institute is planning for a week's/
sewing . course in June, to continue
the work commenced in March. Tlie
secretary gave a very satisfactory re-
port ofthe year's work and the pres-
ident in her address, spoke of the
value of the Women's Institute and
thanked the ladies; for their co-opera-
tion during the year, Miss Ella' Barn-
ard was .then 'elected to preside dur-
ing the election of officers, which re-
sulted as -follows:

National Anthem.: The hostess served
refreshments assisted by Mrs. W.
Stewart.
Mission Band Met Friday
A social time was enjoyed in the
school room of the United Church
on Friday, afternoon when the Mis-
sion Band accompanied by five ladies
of the W.IVLS., gathered to, present
their "Easter Egg Offering." They,
spentthe afternoon making articles
for a Mission Box, andfinishing a
Mission Band quilt. The ladies serv-
ed refreshments and brought a',pleas-
ant and profitable afternoon to a
close.
The
Sunday morning service in the.
Presbyterian Chrirdm was conducted
by the pastor, Rev.: Wm. Patterson,
-who delivered a special Easter mes-
sage, taking for his text "He is not
here, but is risen." Easter music was
rendered by. the ,choir.1

rain there was a splendid attendance
at the Easter Social held in the
school room of the Presbyterian
Church on Monday 'evening under
the auspices of 'the Ladies' Aid. A
prograrn of orchestra music, cluar-
tettes, duets and readings was follow-
ed by progressive games and con-
tests, when everyone entered most
heartily, The ladies' prize was aw-
arded to Mrs, .ilex. Moffatt,while
Mr. Eldlid Nichol was fortunate in
carrying; off the gentlemen's prize, a
beautifully decorated box of candy.
Refreshments, of sandwich, cake and
coffee, were served by the ladies.
Young People's Society Meeting
The Young Peopl'e's Society of the
United Church .held their • regular
meeting on Friday evening, Arpil 14.
Rev, A, E. Mann took charge of the
meeting and' gave a very interesting
tabs based on a trip to Belgium. Miss
Alice Thornton read the Scri tore
lesson, and there was a good attend-
ance considering; the ` unfavorable
state of the weathr, The ' meeting
on April 21st will be the final meet-
ing for the season.
Triple V Class. to Conduct Service`'
On Sunday, April 23rd, the even-
ing service of the United Church will
be conducted by the Triple V Young
Mens' Class from Wingham United
Church. Mr. Joe. Clarke will give the
address, assisted by some other mem-
bers of the class. A:male choir and
quartette will lead the service of
song. A cordial invitation is extend-
ed to all.
