May I, through your news columns,
be permitted to thank the people of
, your district for the way they have
"played the game" under the trying
conditions of the past twelve months,The
and frankly; sincerely, to invite them
an behalf of the government through-
out the difficult year ahead of us, an
even greater measure of confidence
and co-operation,lis
This is no tine for playing poli -
tics, governments are far too busy
endeavoring to save the country, to
concern themselves with petty par-
tisanship, problerns, unprecedented in
rriagnitude and characteristics con-
front us in Ontario. With every. cit-
izen "pulling an oar" we should feel
confident our sh'ip of state will wea-
ther the difficult sea with which it
is now contending.
•
Only through co-operation and not
the co-operation of any political par-
ty in particular, but the patience and
tolerance and "fair play" of all right -
minded people, regardless of creed,
whether they be urban dwellers or
agriculturalists, cen our ship ride out
the storm and be brought, safely and
securely into port, again while we
cannot demand that co-operation, as
the helm, we can at. least appeal, un-
reservedly and unashamedly for this
contribution from our people.
