Davies, BSc„ of Toronto, inspector
of Vocational Schools in Ontario. Mr,
Davies addressed his remarks lo tho
graduating class, calling attention to -
the
fact that the event narking grad -
nation and the finishing of the twelve,
or thirteen years of school life Is
called a "Commencement". 11 is the
commencement of a new phase of life,
going on to something higher. "Your
teachers have inspired you with
ideals," he said, Hand helped lay the

ve•sity to play when you play and,
work when you wont, for there are'
the two important phases of activity,
the classroom and the environment.
Mr. Davies showed a chart illustrating
the "curve of nature" and explained
how all things la life conform to this
curve, including knowledge and
achievement, a grashial building up to
a peak and then a falling away. "We
should resolve to make every effort
to see that our curve of achievement
keeps climbing up and up," the
speaker' said. Mr, Davies .mentioned
that a graduate of Seaforth High
School, Mr. James Gillespie, is now
principal of one of Ontario's largest
vocational schools, in Toronto.

Friday evening, November 23, Mr.
and Mrs. Warren Gibbings enter•
tained at their new home in Tucker -
smith, over one hundred of their
friends, who the previous week had
entertained them in Summerhill hall.
Euchre comprised the former
part of the evening; which was fol-
lowed, by a dance to Welsh orchest-
ra with Mr. Mei Crich as floor
manager. Winners at euchre were:

Morley C. Jordan, whose death oc-
curred very suddenly. Many floral
