The greater part were made by R.S.W.A. groups from new material. Service wool for comforts for the THURSDAY, OCT. 4, 1945 armed forces was largely supplied by the Government. This is no long- er being provided. Also, a number of excellent quality articles of child- ren's clothing were made over by group members from good used ma- terial. "Reports from Europe tell of widespread suffering through lack of clothing," said Mrs. Dray. "Over there it is the poor who suffer most. Where there is rationing; the poor have the same number of coupons as better off people but they are unable to buy the quality so their clothed do not last. All the articles we send are given away to those in need." "Christ died for our sins." Rom. 5:8, and His own self bare our sins in His own. body on the tree. Pet. 2:24. Titus God tranfers judgment from the sinner to the saviour and cancels the penalty for all who/ will trust Christ through faith. 2. • FREEDOM FROM THE POWER OF SIN Sin is it patverftll instinct iu every one of us, The Bible calls this the "law of sin which brings us into captivity." Rom, 7:23. How can a ME11 escape this law? The Bible answers "The law of the Spirit of Christ ('esus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Rom. 8:2 3. FREEDOM FROM FEAR QF DEATH Death is a frightful tragedy for the sinful man. Only the true Christian has nothing to fear. 4. OOD management. . . essential to successful farming, as to any business enterprise . . . is largely a matter of timely marketing and careful spend- ing . . . waiting for the time when it is most favourable to buy. We all want things now. . . things we have not been able to get for the past several years. Some of these things are necessities . . . some are things that will contribute to our comforts and pleasures. Eventually, these things will be more plentiful. By waiting a little longer we will help to keep prices of things we need at lower levels and we will buy at better advantage when we do buy. Meantime we can invest our savings in the safest securities obtainable . . . Victory Bonds. More Victory Bonds will be offered this Fall. They pay 3 % interest . . . double bank interest . . . and they are "liquid capital". If we need cash in an emergency any bank will buy Victory Bonds at any time. And any bank will loan money on Victory Bonds. The Ninth Victory Loan will be oui last opportunity to buy Victory Bonds for a whole year, so buy double this time—the same rate of savings as in previous loans will pay for twice as many bonds over the 12 month period. 1 FARMERS CAN BUY VICTORY BONDS ON CONVENIENT DEFERRED PAYMENTS THROUGH ANY BANK • . . . just sign a short form letter which Victory Loan Salesmen carry (banks have copies) ordering the bank to buy Victory Bonds for you. '\Pay 5% when ordering and the balance at any time during the next 12 months. The interest the bonds earn pays the interest on the bank loan.
