Rev. E. Grigg of Exeter, con-
ducted the special service of Prayer
and Thanksgiving in Carmel Pres-
byterian Church, on Sunday morn-
ing. The choir contributed an an-
them entitled "The Lord Is My
Shepherd" tenor and bass solos
being taken by Messers R. Y, Mac -
Laren and Jas. Bengough.
Chief Petty Officer Maurice Tu-
dor R.C.N., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Stan Tudor of the New Commercial
Hotel. Hensall, arrived in Hensall
this week accompanied" by his wife
and Iittle son, Jackie of Edmonton.
Maurice was attached to the cruiser
Luganda,which docked at Victoria,
recently.

setting of the marriage on Saturday
of her youngest daughter. Cora Isobel,'

was piped by Cpl. W. J. Match, of the
RCAF Pipe Band, Centralia, brother-'
in-law of the bride. Given in marriage.
by her brother, Beecher Streets. the
bride wore a dress of turquoise blue,
fashioned with eyelet cap sleeves and
peplum. Her matching veiled hat was
caught to a halo of tiny red rose buds
and she -carried Better Time roses.
Miss Norma Streets, sister of the
bride, was bridesmaid, wearing beige
silk jersey and carried Talisman
roses. Roy F. Errington, of Toronto,
was best man. The br'ide's another re-
ceived in printed silk jersey with cor-
sage of red roses, and the groom's
mother chose moss green with cor-
sage of pink roses. Mrs. Victor
Heeley, Clinton, and Misses Kay Ross
and Jean Morgan, Toronto, friends of
the bride, assisted in serving. The
couple left later for a trip through
New York State, the bride traveling
in a cocoa brown gabardine suit. On
their return Mr. and Mrs. Patersot
will take up residence in Toronto.

• Word was received here of the
death of Mrs. Earl O'Halloran at
Western Hospital, Toronto, on Sun-
day. Mrs. O'Halloran was formerly
Miss Mildred McConnell, only daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James
McConnell, former residents of
Tuckersmith township. Mrs. OHall-
oran is survived by her husband,
two sons, Gordon and Kenneth,
(overseas) one daughter, Mary Lou,
and two brothers, John McConnell,
London and Wilfred McConnell, De-
troit. The funeral was held on Wed-
nesday morning at St. James'
Church, Toronto, with interment in
Yount Hope Cemetery.
A group of the exclusive members
of Dublin War Services Association
honored Sergent Charles Krauskopf
at his home prior to his departure on
completion of his furlough.
A presentation of a purse of
money was made on behalf of the
residents of Dublin. Sgt, Krauskopf
expressed his appreciation of the
honor. He returned a month ago
from three years overseas service in
Africa, Sicily. and Italy.

HIBBERT
The funeral of the late 1Irs,
Annie McCurdy took place from her
residence, lot 15, con. 14, Hibbert
township with interment in Roy's
cemetery. Mrs. McCurdy passed
away on August Sth in Mrs. Roger's
Hospital, London, where she had
been a patient for two and a half
months. Her maiden name was Annie
Powers, beloved wife of the late
Archibald McCurdy. She was in her
85th year. She is survived by three
daughters and two sons, Nettie,
Samuel and William at home;
(Ethel) iris. Wni. Kay, of Hibbert
and (Mary) Mrs. Chas. Coward, of
Usbone; also two sisters, Mrs.

Church conducted the service. The
bearers were Messers, Chas. Coward,
Howard McCurdy, Cooper McCurdy,
John Hocking, Archie Hocking and
Wnt. Kay.
Follov;ing a long illness, Mrs.
Janes Drew, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boa, former
residents of this community, died -at
her home in LaChute, Que., on
Thursday. The funeral was held in
that place an Sunday.
Surviving are her husband, one
daughter. Mrs. Walter Noble (Dor-
othy) LaChtite; three sisters, Mrs,
George Butson, Staffa; Mrs.
Dodd, Stratford, and Mrs. H. G.
Robinson, Point Fortune, Que,, and
two brothers, Wiliam Boa, of point
Fortune, and Dwight Boa, of Car-
lington, Ont. The late Mrs. Albert
Silk, Mitchell, was a sister.

Mrs. Roy Gingerich was taken to
Clinton Hospital for treatment. Her
many friends wish her a speedy re-
covery. -
Mr. Will Clarke is out again after
having an attack of Quinsy.
Mrs; John Cochrane of Hillsgeeen
visited friends in the vicinity..
An Honor Roll Service will be
held in the Blake Church, on Sunday
afternoon, September 2, at 2:30
p.m. Rev. Mr. Heckendorn of Zurich
will assist Rev. R. Hern with the
service.
Miss Gwendolyn Robb, who visited
her cousin Miss Phyllis McBTide, re-
turned to her hone near Ripley.
