handed over to Allied Supreme
Headquarters by the British, Amer-
ican and Dominion Red Cross So-
sick,.

the prcb£em of looking after large
anuc:hers of Allied .prisoners of
war of various nationalities who
cannot yet return to their own
eot'ntries.
Surplus supplies of invalid foods,
zr.edical and clothing comforts are
also being handed over for the
name purpose.
The food parcels consist of 10,-
000:000 packed in the United
States for American and Allied pri-
soners and 6,500,000 packed in Bri-
tain, Canada and New Zealand for
$t''tish and Dominion prisoners.

Britain Produces
New 'Pocket Tractor'
A new "pocket tractor,"
low-priced and with small run-
ning costs„ which enables even
email fields to be mechanized, has
been designed and produced by a
British manufacturer. This is a
track -laying tractor, powered by
a small 6 h.p. engine. It was
specially designed for work in
areas of soft or water-logged
;round, or steeply sloping fields
conditions in which the wheeled
tractor i3 not suitable. It is now
also being used with great success
in small fields ane }in market
gardens, where, owing to its smail
size, it is able to work nearer to
the edges of fields.
A chair, built about 1800 B. C.,
was recently discovered in one of
the Egyptian tombs, in excellent
condition.

Italian Prisoners
In Britain Still Held
The Foreign (ftice denied a re-
port that the Allies are to free or
repatriate all Italian prisoners -of -
war.
The position is that a decision
has been taken by which the Allied
military authorities in Italy are to
release Italian prisoners who were
captured on Italian territory before
the conclusion of the Italian armis-
tice' and who are at present on
Italian soil. The decision does not
affect Italian prisoners now in Bri-
tain.
Bavaria is the second largest
state of Germany, with an area of
some 30,000 square miles.
