week end with his mother at the

ningham in Kitchener.

The May meeting of the Bethel
Women's Association and W. 5I• S.
was held at the home of Mrs.
Patton. The meeting opened with
Mrs, Charlie Boyd presiding for the
devotional part of the meeting,
Hymn 528 was sung followed with
prayer 'by Mrs. C. Boyd. The scrip-
ture reading Psahn 27 was read by
Mrs. Dave Boyd. The story "A time
of Testing" from the Missionary
Monthly was read by Ethel Dennis.
Hymn 252 was sung. An interesting
temperance story was given by the
Secretary, Mrs. Ralph McMichel.
Mrs. Wm. Leeming had the study
book. The story being of a small
town Cedarville, showing how dif-
ferent churches can and should co-
operate in all work. This particular
town established a home for a refu-
gee family. The meeting was then
favored with a solo by Miss Esther
Patton. Mrs. C. Boyd then intro-
duced our guest speaker. Mrs, R.
Lawson, who gave a very inspiring
talk on International Friendship.
Mrs. L. Leeming on behalf of the
W.A. and W.M.S. voiced the appre-
ciation of the members to Wire, Law-
son for corning to us. Hymn 523 was
sung and the devotional part of the
meeting was closed with prayer by
Mrs. C. Boyd. Mrs. L. Leeming the
president presided for the business.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and adopted. The Roll
call answered by 22 members, The
copper contest to close at the June
meeting with Mrs. R. Holly and Mfrs.
F. Storey es the captains, The June
meeting to be at the home of Mrs.
Alex. Dennis. It was decided to
have the play from Seaforth "Here
Comes Charlie" in the Walton Com-
munity Hall on Monday evening
May 28, The meeting closed by sing-
ing "God Save the Ring" and prayer
by Rev. Mr. Patton,

Chicago, Ill., have returned home after
spending a couple of weeks with rela-
tives here.
Miss Edna Cochrane, R.N., of Tor-
onto, spent the week end with rela-
tives here.

don spent the week end with Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Alexander.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Ferguson of
Elginfield spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Warren Schi,lbe.
Master -David Alexander of Londes-
boro is visiting with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Alexander.
The many friends of Mr. and Mrs.
Ernie Chipchase will,regret to learn
-their infant son is seriously ill with
pneumonia in Loudon hospital.
Miss Wanda Baker of Clinton spent
the week end with Mr. and Mrs. John
Jarrett.
Mrs. S. Baird of Brucedeld visited
on Sunday with her father, Mr. R.
Cooper.

Mrs. Gordon Campbell, was born on
Lot 3, Con. 9, Hallett, ninety-one
years ago. Before moving Lo Wind
sor, Mr. Campbell lived for many
years in Goderich. He was prede-
ceased by his wife, Annie, in 1923,
.and by his only child, Colin, in 1937.
He is survived by his only sister,
Mrs. Robert. Reid (Barbara) of Ed-
monton, and by lois brother Hugh
of Walton. A funeral service was
held in Goderich, where he was bur-
ied
uried in the family plot. Those attending
the service in Goderich were his
brother Hugh. Mrs. John McDonald,
Mr. Alvin McDonald, and Mr. Jack
Kellar, all of Walton, and Mo. and
Mrs. George Carter of Londesboro.

Mr, and Mrs. Rudolph Fisher spent Sun-
day afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Thornton.. -
Mr. and Mrs, Leonard Leeming and Ross
attended. Anniversary Services at Munro on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs, Clifford Thornton and child•
ren of Brussels spent Sunday afternoon with
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Regele.
Pte. John Munn who has been serving
overseas has been visiting relatives and
friends 10 McKillop on his month's leave.
Mr. and Mrs. Leeming spent Sunday with
the latter's mother. Mrs. Love of Grey twp.
Bethel'e. W. A. held their May meeting at
the home of Rev. and Mrs. Patton with a
good attendance of members. Mrs. Lawson
was guest speaker.
