Prayer by Mrs. Britton.. After the
discussion of business, Mrs. George
Addison took charge, opening with
prayer. Hymn, "Thy Kingdon Come
0 Lord," was sung. The prograin
was then taken as given in the Mis-
sionary Monthly. The theme "The
Kingdon of God in the World.' Tak-
ing part were Mrs. Addison, Mrs. W.
Livingston, Mrs. W. Britton and Mrs
E. Lawson, Mrs. (Britton gave a talk
on Racial Prejudice. Temperance
readings were given by Mrs. George
Addison and Mrs. Earl .Lawson. "A
Pilot` Suggests Grace" and "How
Johnny Kept His Pironmise," The
study bock was ably taken by Mrs.
Dave Mi]lson.

The Seaforth • Women's institute
held the second in a series of euchres
on Wednesday night, March 7th, at
the hone of Mr, and Mrs. Wilfred
Coleman. There were. 17 tables play-
ing, Prize winners were, ladies 1st,

Cecil Oke; consolation, Mrs, E. 11,

Mrs. Isaac Jarrett spent a few
days, in Stratford last week.
Mrs, James Wright of Kippen re-
turned home Monday after a. pleas-
ant three weeks vacation spent with
relatives at Barrie and Kirkland
Lake.

will be held in the school room of
the church 'Tuesday, March 20th.

A crokinole party was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Blan-'
shard on Friday evening with a
good crowd in attendance. First
Prizes were won by Mrs. John
Pryce and Eric Anderson: Consola-
tion by Mrs. Almira 'Chambers and
Thomas Blanshard. Lunch was serv-
ed by the hostess.
The W.M.S. and W.A. of Caven
Church, Winthrop, met in the school
'room of the church on Wednesday,
Mar. 7th. The president, Mrs. Robert
MacFarlane, was in bhe chair. The
theme of the meeting was the King-
dom of God in the World: The roll
call was answered by eight. members.
Mrs. Hiram Blanshard took charge
of the meeting for, the worship and
study period. The prayers were gi-
ven by Mrs. Theron Betties and Mrs.
Wm. McSpadden. Mrs. Hugh Alex-
ander gave an interesting paper on
the Burma Road: Then Mrs. Hiram.
Blanchard gave a reading on facing
difficulties in life. The meeting clos-
ed with the Lord's prayer.
CROMARTY
The Young People's Society met
in the church Sunday school room
with the president, Miss Hazel Ham-
ilton in the chair. The scripture pas-
sage was read by Gordon Houghton
and Rev, W. A.MacWilliam ledin
prayer. The topic on 'Prayer" was
ably taken by Thomas Laing. A duet
was sung by Hazel and Anna Hamil-
ton.
Miss Jean Wilton and Miss Aud-
rey Espeseth, both of the CWAC.,
Kitchener, spent the week end with
Mrs. A. Robertson and John Robert-
son. To meet their cousin, Miss Wil-
ton, whose home is in Saskatchewan,
gatherings of relatives were held at
the home of IVlvs, Robertson on Sat-
urday and Sunday afternoon, includ-
ing Mr. and Mrs Fred hills and fa-
mily, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mills and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Walz and fam-
ily, all of St. Marys: and Mr. and
Mrs. Stewart Robertson and family
of Listowel.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Walker and
Alice Irene and Lorne Wessman
with relatives in Ingersoll and Put-
nam.

The March meeting of Kipper'
East W.I. will be held at the home
of Mrs. Wm. H. McLean on Wed.
afternoon, March 21st at 2.15. The
roll call will be to name a new type
of• Canadian industry. Motto will be
given by Mrs. Wm. Cole. Rev, R. A,
Brook of Hensall will be guest
speaker.
The March meeting of the W.M.S.
was Held last week at the home of
Mrs. Cliff Watson with Mos. W. W.
Cooper in charge. After the worship
period conducted by Mrs. Alex. Mc-
Murtrie, Mrs. H, Damm and Mrs.
Harold 'Jones with Mrs. John Bell
offering prayer. Mrs. 'Harold Jones ,
sang "Near to the Heart of God:"
The thence of the meeting was "The
Kingdon of God in the World," and
Mrs. John Henderson gave an out-
line of chapter 8 of the study book
dealing with the work of, the church
in Burma. A quiz on this study was
very much enjoyed 'and was followed
by a second quiz on .C]v'istian Stew-
ardship. The meeting was well at
tended and after the benediction and
Hymn 1011011 was served by 'Circle 3.
Mrs, Gordon Love, who broke" her
hip a week ago is making good pro-
gress and is expected hone from the
Clinton hospital at the end of this
week,
Mrs. Archie Parsons, who under-'
went an operation in St. Joseph's
Hospital last Sunday was brought
home last Sunday and is resting'
comfortably after the trip.
Miss Ann Donmm spent the week
end with her parents and returned
to Toronto on Sunday evening.
The church service'on Sunday will
be conducted by the minister, who '
will continue the Lenten series of
sermons on The Way 01 the Master. '1
