Town of Seaforth
All persons in the Municipality owning or harbouring
dogs must purchase 1944 licenses for same on or before
July 19, 1944. Licenses will be issued from the Treasurer's
Office in the Town Hall.
After that date summonses through the Court will be
issued to the owners or harbourers of dogs not having
licenses.
All dogs must wear license tags.
Many complaints have been received about dogs
damaging gardens and flower beds. Owners or harbourers
are personally responsible and, if necessary, dogs will not
be allowed to run at large.

Another appeal is being made for

Kindly leave at the Red Cross rooms
' the latter part of July. Don't forget

and workers are urgently needed.

turned from overseas recently and is
now a patient at Christie street
hospital.

Jack Nicholson. They were presented

passed her second grade Theory in
music with first class honors.
Miss Marion Lawson returned to
Kitchener Sunday after spending a
week at the home of her parents,

Mrs. Leonard Houghton has been
informed that her brother, Parra-
troopel' Tom Phelan, was wounded
in action on June 6 in France. He
suffered' multiple flesh wounds to the
chest, left forearm and left upper
I arm and hands. Mrs. Houghton also
has three brothers-in-law serving in
the armed forces, Cpl, Ross Hough-
ton and Pte. Jack Lloyd in England,
and Pte. Tom Lyml

Mich., were here over the week end
attending the funeral of Mr. Love's
mother.
Miss. May McGregor of Toronto
is calling on friends and relatives

the funeral of the late Mrs. Love of
Hillsgreen on Saturday last.
Mrs. Brownlee of Salem, Oregon,
is spending the sunnier with her
many friends around the village.
Ivan Stephenson, RCAF., Hamil-
ton, -spent the week end with his
parents, and is being posted to Camp
Borden.
Mrs. 1. Hill and family of Listowel
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. R. Stephenson.
CROMARTY
Neighbors and friends in the vil-
lage met at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy McCulloch and presented
to them an end table and a pair of
vases and to Jean McCulloch a pair
of pillow cases. Mary and Helen Mc-
Culloch were also remembered with
a picture each, The address was read
by Ott Walker and the presentation
made by Miss Olive Speare. ;Miss
Jeanette McKellar presented Jean
with her gift. All joined in singing
"Tor they are Jolly Good Fellows."
Lunch was served.
The W.M.S, and Ladies' Aid of
the Cromarty Presbyterian Church
held their monthly meetings in the
Sunray School room on Thursday af-
ternoon. The president of the W.ilI.
Society Mrs. McWilliam, was in the
chair. Mrs. T. L. Scott gave the
Glacl Tidings prayer. Mrs. Kenneth
MacKellar read the minutes, The roll
can was responded to by a verse of
a favorite hymn, The president gave
the offertory prayer. A paper entitl-
ed "Hymn Reveries" was read by
Mrs. Sorsdahl. Mrs. MacWilliam gave
a fine paper on the topic "Sacred
Music.'
The Ladies' Aid met with the pre-
siclent, Mrs. Houghton, in charge.
Several items of business were dis-
cussed. The meeting closed with
prayer by Mrs. T. L. Scott.

Niagara Falls, N.Y., with Miss Lila
McCulloch and John McCulloch and
other relatives.

returned home after a vieit with Mr.

sels.

Owing to illness of Rev. W. A.
MacWilliam, Rev. Risdoh of Staffa
conducted the service in the Presby-
terian Church on Sunday afternoon,
giving a fine discourse from the
text—"For my thoughts are not
your thoughts, neither your ways
-my ways, sank the Lord. For as the
heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than you;
ways, and my thoughts- than your
thoughts."
