McAllister Ind Mrs,' Blanche McAllister, HULLETT A large crowd attended the unveil- ing service in Burn's United Church on Sunday morning, May 21st. The church was beautifully decorated with red, white and blue streamers, flags, maple leaves and spring flowers. Rev. A. E. Menzies, pastor of the church had charge of the ser- vice, assisted by Flying Officer Lodge, of Port Albert Navigation School. The Honour Roll was un- veiled by Mr. Leo Watt, a veteran of World War I and a member of . the church session, Eleven names are on the Honour Roll of the young men' who have left our church and com- munity to serve King and Country, Namely: Robert M. Smith; E. Leslie Beattie; Lawrence R. Taylor; Reith L. Hesseiwood; Alex A. Riley; Wm. L. Taylor; Edward F. Bell; Wm. Leiper; Robert Leiper; Glen A, Carter; Robert G. Pollard, After the dedication service, Flying Officer , Lodge addressed the congregation. ' He spoke on prayer and stressed the , need of prayer during these days ofd war. During the service the choir ; rendered two very suitable Anthems for the occasion. The recording secretary Mrs. Thos, Morris read an address to the retiring president and Mrs. Lane made the presentation of a set of sherbet glasses and plates. Mrs. Mc- Iver thanked the ladies for their heautiftl gift and for their kindness and eo-operation in the past, The meeting closed with prayer for men in the service.
