The W.M.S. of Carmel Presby
terien. Church will hold their annual
meeting in the school -room of the
Church on Thursday, Dec. 11th.
Miss Violet Hyde returned to her
home here after spending the past
number of weeks in Windsor.

The Women's Missionary Society
of the United Church was held in.
the school -room on Thursday Dec,
4, at 3 p.m. The meeting opened
with the President, Mrs, W. B. Cross
in the chair and singing the hymn
"Angels from the Realms of Glory"
followed by all repeating the Lord's
prayer in unison. The scripture
reading St. Luke, Chapter 1 and 2
and Isaaih 53. Mrs. W. B. Cross led
in prayer. The minutes of the pre-
vious meeting were read and adopt-
ed. The roll call was answered by
17 member's' being present. Rev. R.
A. Brook took charge of the election
of officers. Mrs. E. L. Mickle, re-
cording secretary read the officers'
names which the nominating corm.

the church should encourage more
friendliness, for people crave friend-
ship, Church stands for character,
for people outside the church are
watching to see if -those in the
church are living better lives than
they are. That the church should be
willing to stand up for wanting to
keep the Lord's Day sacred and not
to become a day of pleasure. Also,
that the church wants to keep help-
ing ,others to walk the straight and
narrow way that leads up to our
