Place onions and cucumbers in cold brine (2 cups salt to 4 cups water) and place cauliflower in hot brine. Cover. Let stand overnight. Drain well and cover with the following dressing: 1 cup flour, 2 tbsps. tumeric, 1 tbsp. mustard, 2 tbsps. celery seed, 2 cups white sugar and 8 cups vinegar. Mix together and boil until thick. Pour over pickles while hot and bottle in jars. Mr. L. C. likes Red Cabbage Pickle: Sprinkle 4 tsps. salt over 4 qts. sliced red cabbage. Mix well and let stand overnight. Drain. Add ;1 tsp. pepper and '4 cup mustard seed and place in crock, Add 2/3 cup sugar and 4 cup nixed pickling spices (tied in a bag) to 2 qts. vinegar and heat to boiling. Pour over cabbage.
