Sur - 1647.1947 TRE AMAZING DEVELOPMENT 100 YEARS AGO, two good men with a cradle and rake could cut and bind three acres of grain in a t:• day. Then there still remained the laborious task of threshing the grain with a 9hil on the barn floor. Today one nemanwith a Massey - Harris Harris self-propelled combine can P to 50 acres in cut and thresh u a day. back- breaking bink of the tedious, Just t breaking labor in cultivating, seeding, harvesting and threshing which the farmer of today escapes through thg use of modern farm machinery. The development of labor- saving farm machinery in which Massey -Harris has played a lead- ing part since 1847 has had an important bearing on our daily lives. Before 1830 the farmer pro- duced mostly for himself and his family; today he raises crops chiefly to sell. The huge increase in farm production brought about by farm machinery during the last, century has been an important factor be- hind she rapid climb in the standard of living both on the farm and in the city. Today at the beginning of thb second century of its history, this company looks forward to a con- tinuance of its service in helping the farmer to produce more and better crops, easier, quicker ani at lower cost. t 1/1 .t r VSekccbcel ,8,q asks boccecirauss /441.,, Ito br e,.4s1: e111s prl br bend uI,S a "nadir" COMPANY3t1L/M/T•O 'oo.dnn, or rYocals, a r<.M,",u,srm .a-' Massey Hook Nail Sell -Propelled R..per t1ee her. pqutb Ph ,anbl e Ton ■( c fi@m racers m9 1 tlEtr11 t 00 0*1 11 Ma OpeMl L tsralYh ludo s a otird,°e'ert M auead Ii sof crop boatlloe " AT HNNIGAN'S F.RQM OUBSCRAPBO,OIi - l\Oett Itre born`pretty much alike -hat through ,their habit$ they gradually grow further and further aliart from each other," —Confuscius This week we are displaying DDT Fly Spray for house and barn.
