My neighbor John Williams
was talking the other day
about how important our ex-
port trade is to us.
"You know, Don," he said,
"a lot of Canadians don't
realize what it means to have
world markets for our grain
and hogs. But history shows
now that nor even the strong-
est countries can get along
without selling to others."
Well, 1 agreed with John
all right, but I reminded him
it isn't only a matter of pro-
duce like grain and hogs.

the living room with her father. Her
dress was of Florida blue crepe, with
sweetheart neckline and trimmed
e'1th silver and seed pearls. Her only
ornament was a pearl necklace, a gift
from her father to her mother and
,-urn by Mrs. Humphries on her wed-
ding clay: She carried a white prayer
hook decorated with orchids, hya-
cinths and hibiscus and satin stream-
els. Her Headdress was of matching
Stowers: Matron of honor, Mrs. S. M.
1-iumphries, sister-in-law of the bride,
Wore pink silk jersey. She carried a
bouquet of pink and white carnations.

flowers, 1VIr, Leslie Rutledge, Toronto,
brother of the groom, was best man.
During the signing Of the register.
Mrs, Leslie Rutledge sang "I11 Walk
Beside You." Mrs. Humphries, the
bride's mother, received in blue crepe
with sequin trim wearing corsage of
gardenias assisted by the groom's
mother in Bine green crepe and wear-
ing corsage of gardenias. The table
was decorated with the brides cake,
sweet peas and white candles Mrs. R.
Orr and Miss Dorothy Parke seaved
the wedding dinner. For the wedding
trip to Toronto, New York and Flor-
ida, the bride wore a cinnamon brown
suit, off-white camel coat, brown hat
and brown accessories, On their re=
turn Mr. and Mrs. Rutledge will reside
in Le, Tuque. Que. Guests were present
from Windsor, Toronto, Goderich,
F,qa€orth and Blyth.
