spending a few days this week with
friends in Toronto.
Mrs. E. L. Mickle visited this week

weekend in Toronto with Mrs, Janet
Peck, Ronald and Elaine. ,
Mrs.. Jack Corbett and Connie re-
turned .home from a pleasant visit
with Mr, and Mrs. Leslie Adams and
Mr. and Mrs. Chapman, in London.
The annual congregational meet-
ing of Carmel Presbyterian Church,
which had to be postponed this week
is scheduled for Friday evening
Feb. 14th, weather permitting. The
pot -luck supper will be at the hour
of 7 p.m., and the regular meeting
at S;15 pan,
Miss Betty Mickle spent the week-
end with relatives in Toronto and at,
tended the Ice Follies on Friday
night.
Mrs. John MacBeath spent the
weekend at the home of her son and
daughter-in-law. Mr, and Mrs_ Alex
MacBeth at Kippen.

Logan Council met on Monday,
Feb. 3rd at ;1 p.m. with ,all members
being present, the Reeve presided,
minutes being read and adopted,
correspondence, read. ' ' '
'Court of Revision on Dillon Drain
was held, five appeals to be heard,
McKillop Twp, Council together
with their Clerk attended themeet-1
ing. Lot 30, con. 8, lands assessment
reduced to 80 acres and the assess-
ment to the sunt of $23.15c. Con. 8,
Lot pt. , 31, appeal was dismissed.
Appeal on Lot E % 30, con, 9, was
allowed Lands assessment reduced'
to' 1 acre and assessment to 30c. Ap-
peal on W 4 of Lot 30, <N. pt.)
was allowed, lands assessment -re-
duced to 5 acre and assessment at
15c. Appeal on Lot 31 was allowed,
lands assessment reduced to 55' acres
and assessment amount as $15,95.
Appeal on E / lot 32 dismissed
Total reduction on assessment be-
ing $41.55 of which. McKillop Coun-
cil assumes $20.800 and Logan
Council the balance. '
Council paid out Eng. allowances
on Riggerson and Jordan Drains
those within Logan Twp. total of
$280.00
Council instructed the Clerk to

A delegation of Federation Of,
ficials made requests of the Council
Messrs. Hill, McKenzie, 'Leary and
Mogk. NIr. Hill spoke on behalf of
Council supplying the Warble fly
powder for spring to Logan twp.,
farmers, gave an estimate of the
number of, cattle in the twp. as.
about 10,000 head, estimate of the
quantity used per head as 1 oz per
treatment and that 3 treatments
should be made. Cost of a spraying
outfit was also discussed as being
around the $2.000 figure complete
with Army truck, this to be consid-
ered for next years Council. After
some discussion it was motioned by.
Bach and Gaffney that grant of 100
pounds be granted to the Federa-
tion, this being disposed for the',
time being. Council was asked to
provide recreation space. Federation
members wishing to put on card!
game and dance and other entertain -1
ment for the youth of the twp. many,
suggestions were made. The present,,
floor not being firm it was motioned
by Siemon and Chaffe that this
Council repair the present floor, re-,
place defective joist and pay half
cost of sanding and oiling the floor.!
Geo. Gell was appointed to get the
work done immediately, Mr. Mcd
Kenzie stating that they had plan-'
ned for Friday evening Feb. 7111.
Wm. Chaffe and Geo. Geil were
appointed delegates to Toronto
Good Roads Convention.
Roads expenditures paid total of
$1,750.84; Municipal drains ex-'
penditures $312.00; Relief $14.50;
Miscellaneous accounts $48.01, Bank
borrowings to date $3,500.00.
Council adjourned to meet at the
call of the Reeve as much unfinished'
