1t took him quite a spell to get
around to it, but the President of .
the ?rational hockey Club has
come up with something which
should win the approval of hockey
fans, with the exception of the wild-
eyed bugs- and bugettes to whom
everything wearing the home team
uniform is, ipso facto, a faultless
hero, while any player sporting an
enemy sweater is, automatically, •a.
dirty villain. We refer to ,his in-
structions to the official scorers
to tighten up considerably in the
matter of awarding goals and -
we hope and trust -assists as well.

For the "cheap assist" is, and
always has been, just about the
cheapest thing connected With big -
league hockey. We could :name

Past, including some Trophy win-
ners, whose principal aid toward
fame and glory was less the speed
and accuracy of their shooting than
