No. 9 Morris contributed several numt- bers. When the program closed San- ta Claus paid a visit and helped dis- tribute the gifts and candy to the children. E. B. Goudie was appointed to the Seaforth High School Board and 7. W. Crieh was appointed as mem- ber to the Clinton High School Board. Assessments of $4803 were paid to the Tuckersmith Municipal Telephone System, as was $1098.40, Long Distance accounts, collected through taxes, McKillop Telephone System was paid $88.00, assess- ments. County of Huron was paid 914,861.28, County rates for 1946. John Earle, Truant officer and Sani- tary Inspector presented his report for the year and was paid salary of 919.50 and expenses of $5.00 and was re -appointed to act in 1947. Grants of $10. and $25. were given to the Brucefield Library and Sea - forth Lion's Club respectively. Town of Seaforth was paid $30.00, room rent, and $25. Division Court fees. Miller, Staffa, was the scene of a pretty wedding when. their daughter, Jean McNeil, was united in marriage to Mr. Robt. John Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs.' Alex. Duncan, Kirkton. Rev. W. A. Mac- Williams, minister of the Presby- terian Church, CromartY, officiated. Miss Sarah;, McKellar, aunt of the bride, played the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin as the bridal party entered the room and "0 Perfect. Love" during the signing: of the reg- ister. Given' in marriage •by her fa- ther, the bride 'wore a gown of white triple sheer made with high neck- line and trimmed with sequins. Her finger-tip veil was held in a head- dress of orange blossoms. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white chrysanthe= mums. Mise Leone Duncan, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid was wearing a gown of blue sheer and a pink tulle finger-tip veil. She car- :. d ar-vied pink carnations and white chry- santhemums.. Mr. Russell Miller, brother of the bride, was best man. The, wedding dinner was served fol- lowing the ceremony. Mrs. Miller, the bride's mother, received in a black crepe dress with sequin trim. and wore a corsage of pink canna: tions. The bridegroom's mother had chosen a black gown with blue trim with corsage of pink roses. The room was effectively decorated in I pink and white and the bridal table was centred with the wedding cake. Assistants at the dinner were Mies Shirley Duncan, Miss Anna Hamil- 1 ton, Miss Margaret Templeman, I Mrs. John TCemp and Mrs. Kenneth Duncan. A toast to the bride, proposed by the minister, was responded to by `the bridegroom. A pleasing feature of the event was the presence of` four generations in the family, Mr !Sandy McKellar, Cromarty; Mrs. Wilbur Miller, Staffa; Mrs. KeKn- neth Duncan and baby Floyd Dun- can of Kirkton. The couple left for a honeymoon in New Orleans and Florida and on their return they will reside on the bridegroom's farm near Kii+kton. For traveling the bride wore a gray suit with a blue blouse and black acces- sories. Guests were present at the wedding from Sarnia, Hamilton, Ex- eter, Mitchell, Kirkton, Cromarty and Staffa. Dinnen last Wednesday evening Dec. 11th, the president, Mrs. ICerslake in charge. The hostess was ably assist- ed by Mrs. Roy MacLaren. After the use of the Ode "Joy to the world" was sung. Mrs. Kerslake of- fered prayer. The motto "Joy fills our inmost hearts to -day" the Royal child is born, was fluently discussed by Mrs, Scherk. Appropriate to the Xmas season were the lighted tree and the effective Xmas decorations. Miss Florence Welsh contributed a pleasing solo "The gift" accomp- anied by Miss Lammie. The roll call was answered by many gifts of games and toys for the War Mem- orial Children's Hospital, London. It was decided that the collection re- ceived at this meeting be forwarded to the Adelaide Hoodless Founda- tion Fund. The Zurich Branch has asked Hensall to provide a speaker for the February meeting, the theme being "Hospitality" Mrs. Shiray will attend to this matter. Members and guests plan to forward Xmas greet- ings to a former prominent Institute worker, Mrs. 11. J. Moore, • Streets ville, Ont., Miss G. Luker and Mrs. Wm. Smale were appointed to look after a box of Xmas treats to be sent to an active worker. Mrs. J. Sangster.
