Whiteman, of Zion, Ill., well known to many in this community, passed away on Friday afternoon in Victory Hos- pital, Waukegan, Illinois. The bride wore a street- /I MORE SCHOOLS ENTER TUCKERSMITH AREA JAN. 1 The last regular meeting of the Trustee Board of Tuckersmith School Area was held in the council -chamber, Seaforth, on Saturday evening, Dec. 21st, with tour mernbers present and J. G. Carnochan presiding. The man- utes of last regular and special meet- ings were read and confirmed. Routine correspondence was considered and filed. A number of motions were con- sidered and approved 'Which included an- appreeiation of the services of E. P. Chesney, Tp. Clerk, wbo acted as chairman at the ratepayers' meeting held in 41 school on Der, 17th, for his able, fair and impartial manner in the conduct or the meeting and also to J. W. Crich for his efficient services as secretary of the meeting. The Board also voiced their appreciation of the .services of Miss Berttrix Sand- ford, who has resigned as teacher or ±t7 school and expressed an earnest wish for her speedy recovery to her usual normal health. Way occurred on Sunday morning, Dec. 22, about ten o'clock, at her home in Egmondville. Her death came af- ter an illness of two years. Before her marriage she was Maud Eliza- beth Oke, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Oke and was born at Goderich on Nov. 6, 1875. She was united in marriage to Mr. Way on Aug. 29, 1899, and came to live irk Hullett Township and later in Me- Killop and for the past 30 years in Tuckersmith. Surviving are her hus- band and two sons and four daugh- ters: Casey Way, Tuckersmith; Claire Way, Egmondville; Mrs. Rus- sell Dallas (Helen), Tuckersmith; Mrs. 1. Jackson (Ida), Hensall; Mrs, Bob Cross ()Gladys), Leamington; IVI•rs. Harold Shera (Evelyn). Tuck- ersmith. A sister, Mrs. Ruth Schultz, St. Petereburga Florida, survives; also seven grandchildren. The funer- al was held from her late residence n Egmondville, on Tuesday after- oon, interment being in Ball's length dress of blue wool with shoulder -length veil held in place with white flowers, and corsage of pink and white chrysanthemums. She also wore a string of pearls, the gift of the groom. Mrs. William Cowan, Blyth, sister of the bride, was mat- ron of honor, wearing a, pink crepe dress and corsage of pink chrysan- themums. Allan Nicholson, Hamil- ton, was his brother's best man. Fol- lowing the ceremony the bridal par- ty motored to the home of the bride's parents, where a wedding dinner was served. The bride's mother received wearing a rose crepe dress with bine trim. She was assisted by the groom's mother, who chose blue crepe dress with heal trim. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson left for an airplane trip to Hamil- ton. On their return they will re. side in Seaforth. The groorn"s gift to the bridesmaid was a pair of gold ear rings; to the leest man, tie pin and bar. Cemetery, Auburn. MRS. RAYMOND GLINKSE There passed away at her home in Detroit on Dee. lith, Margaret Ruth, beloved wife of Raymond Glieske, and clear mother of Jeanette and Renee, Born in Tuckersmith, she was the .youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Wire. John Sproat She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Jean Dale and Mrs. Barbara Sykes of ,Seaforth, and Mrs. Jack Shocitcor and Htigh. Sproat 02 Detroit. Funeral services were held on Monciay, Dec, 23rd, front St. Luke's Evangelical Church and interment Was made in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Detroit. . VARNA The United Church S.S. held its animal Christmas entertainment on Friday evening last, after a good programme lunch was served after which Santa appeared and unloaded the tree. Mr. James Sinclaie of London is 1 spending his Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Woods. Mr. Harvey Sperling of London is spending two weeks with his par- ents Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sperling. Miss Florence R.N. of London is spending a few days with her par- ents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bell. We are sorry to report that Mr. Bell has been confined to his bed. We all hope for a speedy recovery with the best of health.
