and Mrs. A. W. Dunlop.
Miss Florence 'Laidlaw; Toronto,
spent the holiday at her home here,

spent the week end at the home of

Miss Hilda Kennedy, London, visit-
ed with her mother Mrs. Roland Ken-

We are sorry to hear Mr. Ken
Stewart's another is seriously ill in
Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth.

visiting with her many friends in this

Mr. Lloyd Cooper is improving nice-
ly after his recent accident when he
had his hand crushed in a corn loader

Mr. Earl Sproat is improving nicely
since he returned hone from London.
Mrs. Cooper Sr. is in Seaforth Hos-
pital where she is taking treatment.

hall in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Al-
bert Ausman, on Friday evening.
Ml'. Ken McKenzie of Detroit re-
cently visited at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Hoegy.
Mrs. Hugh Purvis of Milestown,
Sask., is at present visiting at the
home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Koehler. It is almost 21
years since her last visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Muegge
and family of Seaforth recently
were Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Irvin Rock:
Mrs. Henry, Koehler returned
hone from Stratford last week but
is not,, much 'improved in health.
Harvest Home Services were held
in Evangelical Church here last Sun-
day.
Miss Hazel Doerr accompanied

Sunday and spent the day with, Mr.
Walter Doerr.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Elligson and
Mr. Wessman of Seaforth visited
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Eliigson last

Mr. and Mrs, Dan Scherbart and
family 'of Monkton visited Mn and
Mrs. Charles Eggert on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wnn. F. Koehler of
Stratford were thanksgiving day
visitors at the home of Mr, and Mrs.
Wni. Koehler.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hoegy and
Gloria of Galt spent the holiday
weekend with his parents Mr. and
Mrs. Win. Hoegy.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Baker of
Preston were weekend visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Koehler.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Eckert were in
Galt this past week at the bedside
of her father whose death occurred
on Thursday. The funeral was held
there on Saturday a.m. This com-
munity extends sympathy to Mrs.
Eckert in het sad bereavement.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weitersen
accompanied kir. and Mrs. Leslie
Weitersen of Bornholm to Kitehener
on Sunday, where they spent the
day with relatives.
Mrs. Clarence Rapien and baby
boy returned home from Stratford
hopital, on Saturday.

BAYFIELD
Dayfleld Fall 'Fair held Oct. 9th was
a decided success. The biggest gate
receipt since 1933. The weather was
ideal and exhibits excellent.; At night
the Zurich Lions Club put' on their
minstrel show which was enjoyed by
a packed hall, and a dance was held.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Churchward and son
and Miss Shortt of London spent
Thanksgiving at their cottage.
Mr. enol Mrs. Ormond of Detroit are
spending a two weeks' holiday here.
Miss Fairbairn and . Mrs. Brown
were in Toronto for a Rew days.
Miss Minnie Teresa Armstrong died
at Parkwood Hospital, London, Sun-
day, Oct. 13.' Miss Armstrong was a
graduate of Concord, Mass., Hospital,
and for several years nursed in that,
locality before coming to London,
where she had nursed in the, Queen
Alexandra Sanitorinin. She retired ten
years ago. Born in Bayfteld she had
resided with her sister Mrs. E. Hough-
ton in London priorto her illness. Be-
side her sister she is survived by two
brothers, Archie of Bayfteld, and
James of Gorrie. The remains were
laid to rest in Hayfield Cemetery on
Tuesday afternoon, Rev. D. Lane con
ducting the service. The late Andrew
Armstrong of Seaforth was a brother.
of Belgrave conducted the service at
Duff's United Church. in the absence
of Rev. Hazlewood, who was taking
the anniversary services at Varna.
Next Sunday there will be no ser-
vice in the United Church, as Mon-
crieff Anniversary will be held that
day. Rev. -W. J. Rogers of Dungan-
non will be the speaker and the male
quartette from Blyth will 'furnish!
