Are Coming to Seaforth
Four Stars in a Four Star Concert
"THE DAVIDS", "Canada's Newest Concert Personalities,' who
have triumphed in their recent Ontario tour, are now coning to
Seaforth and will appear in the First Presbyterian Church on October
the 18th. "The Davies" have been acclaimed by critics everywhere,
including Edward Wodson of the Toronto Evening Telegram, who
wrote of their Georgetown appearance: "Three beautiful individual
voices, not a forced or quavering tone amongst them. FRANCES
DAVIE, a mezzo-soprano mellow as the thrush and limpid as the
nightingale; NOBLE DAVIE, a baritone of John Charles Thomas
' range and sympathy; NELLES DAVIE, a basso, cavernous as Paul
Robeson's with tenor timbre in topmost register; VERA HENDER-
SON DAVIE, at the piano, was a. miniature orchestra without
orchestral distraction."
THESE FOUR TALENTED ARTISTS WILL APPEAR AT
FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Friday,' AOctober 18

Just like a telephone switchboard ... there are only so many
lines, so many operators -and when the board is full some
calls are bound to be delayed.
We regret such unavoidable delays. But in the last two
years alone, calls have increased nearly 50%. We're in-
stalling equipment to handle this increased telephone volume
just as fast as it becomes available, but shortages of essential
materials are still slowing up our expansion programme.
This delay is felt all along the line. It is felt by you when
yon' operator is unable to answer immediately.
When this happens, please remember she is serving more
people than ever before -and that she will answer you just
as quickly as she can.
