Mr. and Mrs. Elton Heist and
family of Toronto visited with his
mother and sisters, Mrs, John Heist,
Misses Vera and Velma Heist,
Mr. Arthur McClure has returned
from London where he received his
discharge from the army.
The Helping Hand Mission Band
met in the school -room of the
church, Saturday, May 11. at 2 p.m.
The president, Leslie MdSpadden
presided. The meeting opened with
the call to worship followd by hymn
609. The prayer was taken by Don-
ald McClure and the scripture by
Rocs ll(cClure, Minutes of last meet-
ing were read and adopted. Roll call
was answered by a Beatitude. Hymn
587 was sung. The offering was re-
ceived and dedicated. Mrs. McClure
took the study period and Mrs.
James Hogg took the business. Hymn
474 was sung followed by Lord's
Prayer and National Anthem,

The different groups of Duff's
Church W.M.S. will gather in the
basement of the church Wednesday
afternoon, June 5th. This gathering
will be in the form of a birthday tea.

Over one hundred ftriends and neigh-
bors gathered at the 1VieGregor home
In honor of Mr. and Mrs, Rex Mc-
Gregor, who have settled in the vill-
age. The first part of the evening was
spent in"bingo, after which theguests
of honor were called tothecentre of
the crowd, Mr, Harold Jackson read .

gifts and a sum of money were pre-
' sented to them by Cecil. Adams, Cleve'
Coombs add Ken Coombs. Rex made
a very suitable reply, thanking every
one for their kindness, Lunch was
'served by Mrs. Herbert Coombs, Mrs,
'Cecil Adams, and Mrs. Edward Brown.
,The rest of the evening was spent in
dancing. Music was supplied by Earl
VanEgmond, Harry Stewart, George
Armstrong. and Harry Chesney until
the wee sma' hours in the morning.

ilton, who have owned a cottage in
the village for several years intend
living in Bayfield permanently as
Mr. Rodgers has retired from busi-
ness on account of ill health.
Mrs. F. A. Edwards returned to
Bayfield last week. She spent the
past six, months with her daughter,
Mrs. Watson, in Saskatchewan.
Mr. and Mrs. Wightman of De-
troit and. Florida' have returned to,
the village. Mrs. Wightman, has not.
been enjoying good health. Her
many friend's hope the change of
climate will be ‘bene fieial to her.
Mrs. W. N. Woods has men busy
these days remodeling her cottage
on the river bank and expects to oc-
cupy it at some future date. This is
