Mr. and Mrs. Peter McIver and
family were in London Wednesday at-
tending the annual spring convoca-
tion of University of Western Ontario
held in the J. W. Little Memorial
Stadium. Their daughter Miss Teresa
McIver•, was among the graduates re-
ceiving a Bachelor of Arts degree.

spent the week end at the home of
her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. L.

mer, were week end visitors at the
home of the latter's sister, Mrs. Ralph
McFadden and Mr. McFadden.
Mr. W. J. 'Nott received word that
his eldest brother Albert, had passed
away Monday morning at Sault Ste.
Marie, Ont. He was in his 85th year.
The funeral was held on Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Roderick MacLean and
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Phillips were in
Mount Brydges last week attending
the Campbell -Gillies wedding.
Mrs. Lon Henry, Windsor, is a
guest at the home. of her daughter
Mrs. 'H. G. ' Meir, and Mr. Meir.
Mrs. Harold Sandford has sold her
residence on West William street, to
Mr. and Mrs. Jason Ellis, Toronto,
possession to be taken July 15th.
Mrs. Giroux, St. Clet, Quebec, is
spending a few days at the home of
her daughter and son-in-law, Mr, and
Mrs. Albert L adouceur, Royal Apts.
Mr. Thomas Fox, Westminster Hos-
pital, London, spent a few days this
week with Mrs. Fox and Sally.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McKenzie are
moving to the farm of Mr. Lorne
Webster, McKillop, which they have
purchased.
Rev. D. D. Davidson, of Knox Pres-
byterian Church, Mitchell, gave an
Interesting address to the Young
People of First Presbyterian Church
on Tuesday evening.
Dr. and Mrs. Hodgins have returned
to Toronto after spending a couple of
weeks with Mr. and Mrs, John
Beattie
rest in Clinton cemetery on Monday
of this week. We wish to extend sin-
cere sympathy to Mr. Argent and
Reg. Mr, and Mrs, Argent and Reg.,
before moving to Blyth had a store,
blacksmith shop and kept the post
office at Harlock.
There is a report that the oil drill-
ers are going to try their luck again
for oil this summer on the farm of
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Allen, We wish
them success this time. '
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Taylor spent
Sunday afternoon at the hone of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Watson.
Mr. Isaac Rapson attended the fu-
neral on Saturday in Clinton of Mrs.
Snell of Hamilton. We wish to ex-
tend sincere sympathy to Mr. and
Mrs. Ephriam Snell and family and
all the other friends.
We are sorry to hear that Mrs.
Leo Watt has been in Toronto for a
few days owing to her son Jim being
poorly. We hope their trip to Toron-
to will be satisfactory and that Jim
will soon be feeling better again.
The people on the sideroad north
of Harlock and on the 1st concession
West of Harlock have been very
busy with the help of a machine re-
moving trees and shrubbery along
the fences so as to make the road
more passable in .the winter,

takes a keen interest in the current
events. His daughters, Mrs. Gordon
Davis (Olive) Toronto and Mrs.
Russell Love (Lulu), Owen Sound,
were present to celebrate the day
with their father. He was born at
Thames Road and has spent the past
20 years on the farm on which he
now lives, with his wife and son
Lloyd. Mr. and Mrs. McDonald cele-
brated their golden wedding three
years ago.
LONDESBORO
After an illness of two months
Williann McKenzie Webster died on
Friday at the hone of his sister,
Mrs. G. E, Saville. He was buried on
Sunday at Blyth. Mr. Webster was
born in Hullett township on Jan. 19,
1870. a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
James Webster. He lived his entire
life on the hoemstead until three
years ago when he retired and came
to Clinton to live. All his life he had
been very active in church work
