Death of Wm, McDougall. --There

in'Canada and spent nearly all his life
in Tuckersmith, where he. farmed on
the 3rd concession, with the -excep-
tion of five years which he lived in
Tlaltsall..He moved back to the farm
again a yew years ago and has resit
ed there since. He has been in poor
health for 't year, an4_has been in
bed 'since August. 11 -le is survived by
.one daughter, Mrs, Caldwell., of Lon-
don, and three sisters, Mrs, Eric Mc-
• Kay, _ anti Mrs. Joint Morrow, of
Pilot Mound, Man., and Mrs. Jas.
Morrow, -of iW:nnipeg. His wife .pre-
deceased him some 30 years ago. Mr.
McDougall :was an intelligent, kind
Hearted -manse. Reformer in politics,
and a: member • of Kippen United
Church. The -funeral was held from
his home in Tuckersmith on Saturday
afternoon to Brucefield cemetery.
.The pallbearers were relatives of the
deceased, being•Jas; Robertson, 'Hugh
McGregor, Archie McGregor, John
McGregor, • of Hay, and • \\'m. Mc-
Gregor and John •Mc'Gregor,. of Tuck-
ersmith. The funeral service was
conducted •by Rev...Mr. Conner,. • of

\What might have been n serious
accident occurred on Satur-d•ay after-
noon when Mr•. ,Alex. Murdoch, who
was driving east, collided with a car
driven by JohioCaldwell, a mile and
a quarter east of .Hensall. Mr. Cald
:veil, who was accompanied by his
wife and hn father, were going to
Mr. McDougall's funeral when the
two tars met at _the school house
r rner, Air. Murdoch's oar was turn-
- e.1 completely over, pinning him
.nalderneath, and he was taken from
• under the car with a good deal of dif-
ficulty. Luckily no one was seriously

Tuesday on business:
A disastrous dire occurred on Mon-
day evening on ,Reeve 'Geiger's farm
jest east of Heusall when the barns
nn the ,faint were burned to the
ground. The fire was noticed about
seven o'clock and soon a large crowd
was on hand but could do nothing to
save the buildings, The barn con-
tained a large quantity of hayand
flax and is a 'severe loss to Mr Geiger:
The death occurred on +Wednesday
afternoon Nov. 2nd, of (Henry Pybus,
aged 81 years. Mr. Pybus was visit-
ing at the home of los son 'William in
Tuckersmith, and on Sunday after -
110011 when the rest of the family were
at church, Mr. Pybus took suddenly
ill and falling, he received several
severe cuts and bruises,' which no
doubt, hastened the end: Mr, 'Pybus
farmed for years, in Tuckersmith, just
north of Chiselhurst, but a few years
ago moved to Hensall ,and- has resid-
ed here since. He is survived by
three sons and one daughter, ,William
on the farm in Tuckersmith, Rev.
Geo.' Pybus add 'Gordon :Pybus in the

funeral was held Friday afternoon
from his win's home to McTaggart's'
cemetery, Rev. Arthur Sinclair hav-

Thanksgiving services were held in
the three local churches on Sunday
and were all largely attended, Mr.

services in the United Church which
were greatly enjoyed.

giving Day at 1:30 p.m. at the home
of the bride's father, Mr, Ales. Mc-
Michael, when Miss Anne McMichael

Some of our boys got in wrong by
going out Hallowe'en night and had
to pay for the lesson they got for
looking on, even though they dict no
