The services in the United Church
on Sunday .last were largely attended,
Rev. Mr, 'Sinclair 'preached at the
morning service, and at the evening
service Rev. Mr. McDonald, • of Eg-
mondville, took charge of the service,
accompanied by the Egmondvillle
choir, which was. greatly enjoyed by
the large audience present. Rev. Mr.
Sinclair, accompanied by the choir,
took the service at+Eginondville on
Sunday evening, The choir rendered
two anthems, a duet by Mrs. Lee
Heiden, and a sold by Mr. Sam Ren-
nie, Rev. Mr.,Sinclair preaching to a
large congregation,
Mrs. 'Redmond, of Lethbridge,
Ala., is visiting for a few weeks with
her sister, Mrs. N. Peck.
Miss Lillian Steacy and Miss Dor-
othy .Heffernan visited for a few days
with relatives in (Seaforth,
Miss Irene Douglas is visiting for
a few weeks with friends and relatives
in Toronto.
!Airs. John Johnson, who has been
visiting for the past month with her
daughter, Mrs. Douglass, at Hyde
Park, has returned home, accompan-
ied Iby her little granddaughter, who
will visit here for a few weeks.
(Misses Marguerite and (Doris Chap-
man, of Palmerston, visited for a few
days with their grandmother, Mrs,
Geo. Scott,
Mr. Louis Snaith, of Detroit, sang
a pleasing solo in the United Church
on Sunday morning last, which was
greatly enjoyed by the congregation.
Miss Gladys Luker visited on Sun-
day with relatives in Belgrave.
Master Bobby Drysdale, who un-
derwent an operation in Victoria
hospital, London, returned home last
week, • nd is greatly improved.
'Mr. Milton •Love has greatly im-
proved the appearance of his house by
having it nicely painted, and putting
up new verandahs,
The Sunday school picnic of the
United Church will be held at Bay-
field on Wednesday, July 27th, at
Bayfield. A good time is being look-
ed for,
Mrs. Jas. Habkirk, of Seaforth, vis-
ited for a few days with her sister,
Mrs. Alf. Taylor.
The annual Ford picnic will be
held at Grand Bend on Wednesday,
July 27th.

tle child, of Detroit, visited here over
the week -end with relative's.

friends in town.

improving the appearance of their

the front painted and other improve-
ments made.
'Match sympathy is expressed for
Mr. and Mrs. Earl 'Campbell in the
death of their baby boy, which took
place on Sunday. The funeral took
place 'on Monday afternoon to Exeter
cemetery,
The Entrance of the Public school
passed a creditable number, as out of
10 that wrote, nine passed: Jean Bell,
Lulu. Liirdenfield, :, Harold (Munn,
Joyce Seruton Marion Sinclair, Mil-
dred 'Smillie; Eldred'' Snaith; 'Royce

friends at Blyth for a few days.
Mr. James (Wright, ,who bought the
Bell farms a mile and a quarter north
of--'Kippen .this: spring, met .•with a
painful injury Friday last when the
tips of his 'fingers Were caught by
the crusher but he was fortnnate in
being slble to jerk his hand free in
time to `prevent a more serious ac-
cident. He was brought to 'Seaforth
hospital where it was found the tips
of the three middle fingers of ,the
right hand were so severely cruised
they.had to be amputated :above the
fseg. joint, Mr. Wright has returned
home and as able to be around. This
week, whets the engine was started
to finials the crushing, it only turned
over a few times before stopping
from lack of gasoline, thus a couple
of minutes more and the accident
would not have happened.
