evening and with that we all can have
a nice time. 'Sapper will be served
from 6 to 8 o'clock and come and

program of singing and Scotch danc-

newing old acquaintances in our town,
She does not see many of her old
camrades, now. She was Miss Karn
when living here. Her son was here
at Father Bricklan's Mass on Sunday

brate his first Mass in St. Patrick's
Church, Dublin, on Sunday, June 19,

Mrs. J. S. McCall, -There passed
away Friday evening, June '10th, at
her ]torte on the 7th line of Morris,
Minnie Gibson, beloved wife cif Simp-
son afaCall. She was born 47 years
ago, daughter of the late 'James Gib-
son, and IMrs. Gibson who is still liv-
ing in Blyth. She lived on the 9th
con. of `Morris till 18 years ago when
she was married to Mr. McCall, also
of Morris. Mrs, McCall Was in ,poor
health for nearly four months before
her death.- There survives, her hus-
band and seven sisters, Miss Ella in
Blyth, Mrs. J. E. Taman, Blyth, Mrs.
Atkinson, Wallaceburg, Misses Sarah
and Rtlby,'Blyth, Mrs. Oestricher; of
Crediton, Mrs. Geo, Cole, Frobisher,
Sask., and two brothers, Will on the
homestead and James, 9th con. 'Morris.

County Treasurer Lane Announces
• That He Will Retire in December

the judge be requested to appear be-
fore the council 'to give a detailed ac-
count of the• juvenile court work in

council had received notification from

pointment df Miss Campbell as juven-
ile 'court clerk at $12 a week, with re-
quirement that salary the paid by the

they were to pay the salary they

COUNCIL.
June session ofthe county
council
was held :at G'odericb last :week, all
mrtnbers being :present but Reeve Mc-
Quaid, :T'Gc'Killop, who is ill.
Reeve Merper,'Bayfield, asked whe-
ther he was entitled to sit at the
council board or not and after discus-
sion it was decided to refer the 'natter
to the county solicitor and Mr, 'Hays
gave it as his opinion that if the'Vil-
lage olf 'Baydfield had ,ceased to exist
Mr, Merner Vas not entitled to sit at
the council. The legislation dissolving
the incorporation, of 'Bayfield was
passed after the January meeting of
the county council, so that, on that
score, it seemed that Mr, Merner 'was
entitled to his seat -in Janulary, but, an
the other hand,the legislation declar-
ed 'Bayfield a police village dating
'from J'en.'lst, 1927. being retroatc'tilve
