The regular 'meeting of the ''Marion
Oliver 'Circ'le" was 'held in the
church parlor Friday evening, with
the President, Miss 'Hazel Haugh, in
the chair, The devotional exercise
was led byMiss Lillian !Richardson,
after which the • Lord's Prayer was
repeated in unison. Several of the
membersgave short talks on lives of
different missionaries. An interesting
report was read by 'the delegate front
the Presbyterial held in 'Goderieh on
April 28th. We were then favored
with a violin solo by Miss Eva Stack-
house. 'Miss 'Hazel Haugh closed the
meeting with prayer.
The Young People's meeting, a
song service, will he held as usual
next ,Sunday after the evening ser-
vice.

ly meeting, A good , nunber were
present, despite 'the inclement wea-
ther. The pastor, ;Rev, W. D. iM-c-
D'onald, o'ccupled the chair. After
singing a .'hymn, the chairman led in
prayer..'Mr. Crawford Principal of
Seaforth Public School, then- present-
ed' a set of 'motion pictures entitled,
"As You Like It" by Shakespeare.
They were very interesting and 'gave
everyone an excellent idea of the kind:
of life that prevailedin the Royal
'Court in 'Shakespeare's time. The
pastor offered a vote of thanks to
,Mr. Crawford !for presenting the
slides. Miss :Billie 'Chesney'. and Mr.
Earl Webster also spoke a :word of
a'ppreci'ation, A hymn was sung and
then all repeated the 'Mizpah .bene-
diction.
Tihe Young Peoip•le's Society held
an, interesting. meeting in the Eg-
nic,nd•ville ' United 'Church, Miss
Cora Sherwood presided and conduct-
ed the devotional exercises. The topic
for the everting was 'music, 'Miss
:Billie Chesney gave an 'interesting
history of music: . Miss -Laura Me -
Millan gave a splendid paper on the
power of music and 'Miss Sadie
Howatt sang a pleasing solo, Miss
L'illfe Chesney played the hymns on
the piano and was accompanied ,by
Hugh and Ecl. Chesney on the vio-
lin andtIRo'bert Tyndall on the saxo-
phone. At the close of the pro-

was divided into four groups named
after famous •composers and an inter-
esting contest was enjoyed.
The Neil Shaw Young Women's
Auxi'liary. held their first +meeting of
the financial year in the 'Egmondbille
United Church. 'The president, Mies
Violet Tyndall, presided, and read the
Scripture. The topic was taken by
Miss Iona 'Wallace. Miss Gertrude
Webster gave a report of the 'Precby-
teriai meeting at Goderieh. 'Miss
Sadie •IIowatt contributed' well rend-
ered solo.

John J. Graham. -An old and re-
spected resident of ,Goderfc
h was re-
moved 'by the death on Wednesday,
May 4th, of John J. 'Graham, Mr.
Graham was in his seventy-first year,
and his health hail been failing rap'id-
ly'for some months. '!He was a native
of Stanley township, moving from
there to'Goderich township, where -he
lived for a num'her of years on the
Bayfield road. For thirty years he
had been a resict of is

where he followed the trade of. car-
penter. '133e is survived !by his 'wife,
(formerly (Miss Sarah Johnston of
°Goderieh township), and two daugh-
ters: Mrs. A, +C. 'Fairbairn, 'of Van-
couver, 13:C,, and Mrs, D. M. Camp-
-bell, of •Kenora, Ont. Reuben ‘Graham,
of Detroit; 'Mrs. Alex, Robinson, of
Toronto, and Mrs. henry McGavin,
of"+Seaforth, are brothers and sisters
of the deceased. -The funeral took
place on ;Friday afternoon from the
residence, Cambria road, to Maitland
cemetery, and was largely attended,
'Rev. R. C. McDermid conducted the
services and the 'pallbearers were !Mr.
C. M. 'Johnston, of Essex, Thomas,
Rdbert and S. M. Johnston, of town.
Among those present were Mrs. D.

Mrs, C. 'M. Johnston of Essex, Mrs.
