enters, it jingles a warning and it Is

tore came down from •Scotland and set

Windsor Castle. One of the sisters
had a carefugdy guarded recipe for con-
fectionety of superior quality.. In a
microscopic kitchen behind the proper
little sale'srocm Miss Caroline Camer-

business like Miss. Henrietta ueder-
took to buY supplies anl4 disponee the,

day an order name from the Castle.
That must have been a stirring day lu-

the Cameron sisters' could rightfully
call themselves Purveyors to Her

chocolate drop.
Soon everyone at the Castle and In

Queen Alexandra carried on the tra-

Several times a week, when in rest -

A Matter of Choice.
Which do you choose? To adhere to
the disinclination of the average man
and woman to discuss cancer, refuse
to learn the facts about it and not be
in a position to help yourself and your
, friends should the need arise? Or to
ascertain the few proven items 'about
cancer and thus help prevent your-
self and your (Mends being listed as
one of the victims?
We know very little about cancer,
but cue point we do know --it is cur-
able if treated promptly, To ensure
early treatment,we must iruow the
signals which nature uses to warn us
of danger. A lump on the lip of a man,
any unusual discharge, a sore on the
skin which will not heal, a lump on
the female breast, attacks of so-called
Indigestion—these are all signs 'which
we should not take the responsibility
of disregarding. The only person who
can say 'whether they may safely be
overlooked is your <lector.
Just omit the number of people you
know who have suffered from cancer
and you will realize how urgent is the
need to learn all you can about 1t. Men
who havegiven years to its study
state that, whereas It is in their power
to euro the largo majority of cancers,
they are only able to apply the neces-
sary treatment in about 'ten per cent,
Why? The same reaso0 is given
wherever you go -"I dill not see the
patient early enough." ,
Nobody knows how many cases of.
cancer are In Ontario at present, but
everybody is aroused by the fact that
this Province lost three thousand of her
people from this cause in 1926.
Yet the cancer situation is not hope-
less. Preventiou of constipation is
ane means in our hands to aid the pre-
vention 01 cancer. The danger signals
listed above are not difficult to ob-
serve and each means "Seethe doctor"
immediately it is Couutt; this is the one
powerfu'1 weapon in our hand against
cancer — early diagnosis and early
treatment.

Deanery Dating to 1006 Held
by Two Clerics.
"Ancient and peculiar," which is its
ecclesiastical designation, seems a
fair enough descripition of the Dean-
ery of Bocking, Essex. It has just
come into the limelight, due to the
pending resignation of the Rev. If.
I. Carter, rector or I•Iarlleigh, Suffolk.
A peculiarity of this rectory is that
it must he jointly held by this rector
and the titular clean, and the death or
resignation of one or the other de-
prives the survivor of lois office until
the successor is appointed. The
"twin" deanery dates back to .the
Saxon period having been founded
in 1006, 'whoa estates in the two
counties were clanked to the monks
of Canterbury.
