about a mile and a' half east of here.
Mrs. FIadenko' was alone at home
with her six .children and managed to
get the most of the contents out 'be-
fore the .assistance of the neighbors
arrived. She had to take shelter in
the stable with the children, as her
husband was in Toronto with one of.
the children who was at the hospital.
On his 'arrival home this week he
found his -fine residence entirely de-
stroyed, It was partly covered . by
insurance.

On Sunday morning about 2 o'-

Mr. Basil Hadenko's house was on
fire and bttrned to the ground, leav-
ing only the stonewall and ruh'bish.
The neighbors saved a lot of the
household effects, 'bdt not nearly all.
Hadenko is in Toronto with one
of his sons to take treatment for a
lame leg so that only his wife and the
other children were at home. This is
a hard blow tor Hadenko as this
is the fourth fire in a few years. There
