Mrs. Driscoll. --After an illness of
about a week, a Highly 'respected
tisloneer of .McKillop passed to her
hewers- an Thursday, 'Feb, 241h, 1927,
:r1sout 9 o'clock, in the person of
Sarah Jane 'Boyd, wife of the late
Edward 'Driscoll, who predeceased
:her about eighteen years ago. Mrs.
Driscoll was born in the year 1845,
near Merrickvitle, Grenville 'Co
er'liere most of her girlhood days were
epent, She resided there until her
marriage 'in 1862 to Mr. Ed. Driscoll,
tetien they moved to Lot 25, Con,
12, McKillop, the farm adjoining her
'Late home. She was a woman of re-
markable health and activity till the
Zest few years, when Frequently she
suffered from heart trouble. Her
"kindly disposition and countless acts
,af charity helped to make -her a very

men's Institute, was 'held on Wed-
nesday night, Feb. 23rd when they
entertained the farmer's club.
A debate: Resolved 'that the'fartn-
er's daughter has more advantages
than her sister in the office, was the
main feature of the evening. The af-
firmative was represented by Miss
Gertrude Peart and Mrs, A, A. Col-
quhoun, while Miss Vera Hamb ey
and Miss Margaret' Davis upheld the
negative side. The judges, Miss Jean
Mountain, Miss 'Pearl Thomson and
Mr. Rcibt, Norris, after a very leng-
thy discussion, finally decided that
the farmer's daughter had a narrow
edge over the office girl.Games were
indulged in, after which lunch was
:rived by the ladies.
The Young Peoptes (Society had a
very entertaining social evening last
Friday, the feature of the evening 'be-
ing a mock election for mayor of
Varna. The aspiring candidates were
Watson 'Webster and Ellwood Epps.
