retary. The meeting was opened by

Bell were greatly enjoyed. Dorothy
Heffernan gave an interesting talk on

which a cat concert was given, An
interesting Indian dance and panto-
mime was then given, followed by' a
song by Marie' Foster. An amusing
play was well rendered by the pupils,
after which Jean Stone and Lorne
Chapman took charge of the Christ-
mas tree. The pupils of the school
then presented a -hydro lamp to Miss
Johnston, the principal, and an -ivory

ably responded to the presentation

A very pleasant afternoon was

all with "mouth organ selections. The
pupils sang three choruses very nice-
ly and the primer girls gave a nightie
drill. Four senior girls sang a Christ-
mas hymn, and eight senior girl^,
dressed as 'butterflies gave ,a drill
which gave much; pleasure. The boys
bad a drill entitled When I'm a•
Man,." and the pupils a dialogue en-
titled, "Teaching a'Lesson." Some of
the parents gave the season's' -greet-
ings and words of cheer to teacher
and pupils. {Some of the above items
were repeated at night at a 'Christ-
mas tree at ;the )Bethel church with
the addition of two solos by 'Charlie
Boyd and a solo by Irene Smith a
reading entitled "Coming Home for
Christmas," by Cora Mathers and a
recitation by Brenton Godkin, The
young people froin i$. S. No. 6 gave a.
dialogue entitled "A Family Hold
Up.." There was much laughter over
