VETERANS' P'CNIC.
The fourth annual picnic of Huron
Veterans was held on \Veclnesday at
Jowett's.,Grove, Bayfield, and was a
grand success, about 500 veterans
with •their wives and families being
present. •
The basciiall match between Win g-
hant'and Goderich was wort by Wing -
ham by a large score. The sports
were enjoyed by 'both spectators an I
contestants, some of the events hav-
ing 1.8 and 20 entries. Suitable and.
valuable prizes were presented for,
each event. lfajor Campbell of Wing-
Inant, chairman, :o'f the day, was a
hustler. ,Major Sloan had charge of
the .sports and acted as clerk of the
