HIBBERT.
On Monday last a number of men
and women from Hibbert went to
pick 'berries in Mr. Janes Sproat's
bush, Tttckers,nith, myself being one
of ale number. Wooten left their
washing undone, sten let their horses
go idle, to go and secure in an hottest
manner what was going to loss and
would be very beneficial to us. Every,
thing went on very satisfactorily, till
about three o'clock. I stet a neigh-
bor and he told me his berries were
stolen: He also told me his neigh-
bor's berries were stolen, Later on
when we were preparing to return
home a little girl was sitting in her
covered .buggy, resting. A man came
along, and not noticing her, was help-
ing hinnself to their hard earned ber-
ries, when she disturbed hint. Very
'fortunate for us indeed, that he was
disturbed, or our pail of berries would
have followed 'the others, as our bug-
gy was beside hers. The little girl
did not know the thief.

said he had changed slightly for the
better. His many friends hope Inc
his speedy recovery.
