their next meeting at the home of
Mrs. H. Blanchard on Wednesdayaf-
ternoon, March 3rd. This wilbe
women's annual day of prayer, We
hope for a good attendance.
Miss Ella Love and Mr. Norman
Love, of the West, have been called
home owing to the serious illness of
their mother, Mrs. Love, who lives
with her daughter, Mrs-. A. Cu'thiil.
Mrs. Wtn. Trewartha spent a few
days in Seaforth with her sister, Mrs.
Wm, Chapman.
Miss Bessie Blanchard and Mr.
Thos, Blanchard entertained'. a few
of the young people to a progressive
euchre last Wednesday evening. The
ladies' prize for capturing most
eames went to Mrs. Fergus Bullard
and was a pair' of salt ,and ,pepper
skaters' and the gents' prize, a pair of
suspenders, went to Mr. W. C. Ben-
nett: and the consolation prizes went
to • Miss. Almira Shannon and: Mr.
Hiram Blanchard, after which a dain-
ty lunch was served. Then a few
hours were spent in dancing. They
all returned Ming after thanking the
young folks for the social evening
they had enjoyed together.

has been spending'a few days at the
home of Mr. and Mrs, Herbert
Fowler.
Mr. G. W. Nott was a Toronto
visitor over the week -end,

Mrs. Alex. Parks, of Egmondville,
suffered a stroke on Friday and is a
little improved since then, -
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Chesney and

returned home by train on Monday
night from Kitchener. ' They motored
to Florida and as far back as
Kitchener.
Mr. Torn Jackson was over To Port
Heron, Mich„ to spend the week -end
with Mr, Lawrence Ellison.
Mrs. Troyer, of Seaforth, who has
been on an extended visit with rela-
tives in Marlette,- Mich., is visiting is

Lions Club are planning a euchre
and Old Time Dance for St. Patrick's
Day, March 17th. Full particulars
will be given later.
Lieut. Huson, late of Thedford, has
been appointed to assist Lieut. Tid-
ma•n in the place of the late Lieut.

Duncan Cup Games, Saturday.
Many fans were disappointed in
hot seting what might have been an
exciting game dietweet the Babies and
Keating's Kids, who defaulted
through lack of players. A fairly ex-
citing scrub game was played during
which but one goal was scored on
Rennie. The game ended I-0.
The Pets turned the tables on the
Jugglers to the extent of 5-2. Cum-
mings succeeded in 'bulging tete net
3 times while Willis and Edmonds
got the- other two. Willis and Cum-
mingf played fine combination.
Hart and Reynolds starred for the
Juggfers, who scored their goals in
the final period. The score by per-
iods was 1-0, 4-0, 5-2. The line-up:

In a last game of hockey on Tues-
day night, the Higit School Wossa
team pulled a 3-2 victory out of the
fire. Every member of the .winning
teats, • which was weakened by the
absence of 'Willis and McMillan,
played .like veterans, Muir with two
goals and Montgomery with one,
starred for the Wossa, Barber and
Daly also played well Aberhart
and Holmes scintillated for Kers-
lake's, -scoring a goal apiece, Both
goalers showed up well under heavy
bombardment. The line-up

ture lesson was read by Luella Jar-
rott. The roll was called -6 for reds
and 7 for greens. There were two
new members who joined the band.
Hymn 495 was sung, after which the
lesson was taken by Mr. Carlile,
Brave Adventures. The meeting was
closed by singing Hymn 494 and re-
peating the Lord's Prayer in unison,

taken by Mr. Wren Eyre. The inter-
