The Importance of Storing All Har-

The importance of storing all h
vesting tools and machinery at
use is an economic factor still to
realized by a very large percent
of farmers lefuelt of this apathy
the part of the farmer towards t
proper care and management of
farm equipment Is due in a lar
measure to the lack of appreetati
of the fact that tools and ntcchin
cannot give maximum of efiieien
when allowed to become coated wi
dirt and rust:
The first requieite in this directi
is to properly house thein,
above all is the most imps
tent, It is deedless to show t
rapid deterioration of steel, fro
wood, Canvas,
,or anything that go
into the-000tatl'uellort of farm -in
chines, when they are out of don

course, the factotr conditioning the
life and working efficiency are co

and 1
Sure, There is, however, no rel ab
data available that will give us el
coefficient of corrosion, but ever
farmer is aware that the motdbcar
of a plough subjected to dewy night
or damp weather conditions for
few h
moldboards as to pit its will so ssurfacet the rtha
it requires several' rounds' of th
field to bring it back to good work
ing condition. Stich a hard metal t
undoubtedly much slower to corrode
than either cast or wrought iron
hence machines ' tools left out
exposed to all kinds dof weather, the
bearings and working parts of ma-
chinery and the cutting edges of tools
will become so badly affected with
rust as to render new parts neces-
sary in the machines and good grind-
ing and housing of the' tools to put
them in workable condition.
The question of good and efficient
management of. machinery is an int-
portant one to the farmer if -he only
