Mr. Malcolm Young of Sarnia took
thee service in Cannel Church on Sun-
day last. There was a good at-
tendance.
The Welfare Youth Club of Carmel
Church held their meeting on Monday
evening with a good attendance. The
meeting- opened by singing Psalm. 19.
All repeated the Lord's prayer. Bible
lesson was read by Miss Hannah
Murray, Minutes of the last meeting
were read and roll called. A topic on
,Life of David was very ably taken by
Miss Irene Haggarth, Hymn 5&2, af-
ter which the benediction.
'Rev. W. A. Young is improving
nicely after his recent operation and
.1115 many friends are pleased to see
him around again.
Mr. and Mrs, M. Clark visited with
friends in Exeter on Tuesday.
Mss Dorothy-McQ5ueen has been
confined to her room for the past
week. Her many friends hope to see
her around again in a few days.
Mr, and ,Mrs. Orville Stntih and
Mrs. \\sin, Cansitt spent Tuesday in
Exeter.
The many friends of Mrs. T. C.
Joyett will be sorry to hear she has
not been enjoying good health and
has gone to Climate hospital for treat-
ment.
Messrs. Jas. A. Paterson, J. W.
Ortwe:n and Owen Geiger were in
Goderich Wednesday attending the
trial of the Huron County auditors.
Mr, \Vm. Joynt of Toronto spent
the week -end with relatives and
friends in town.
Council Meeting. — The regular
meeting of the village council was
held on Monday evening at 8 p,m, in
the ,council chambers with all the
members present. Minutes of the pre
vines meeting read. Petty and Jones,
that the minutes be adopted as read.
Petty reported the shed roof, also the
roof on the top of water tank, as be-
olg painted. Jones reported re the
gravelling on King st. east, also the

Nail Pierces Foot.
Mr. W, R. Counter, of Clinton, met
with a very nasty accident. 'While
workingin the yard, he 'happened to
step on au'upturned -nail, which went
clean through his foot, protruding on
the upper side. The nail was a r us'ly
one, and although no serious results
are anticipated ,from the accident Mr,
Counter will be laid ,tip for some tiiiie,
Mr. Counter's many Seaforth friends
will regret to hear of his accident,
Urges for Electric Railway,
A correspondent writes thus: "Will
the C.F.R.'build the electric road they
proposed 'between Seaforth and Brus-
sels, connecting ,with their line at
\Walton? is the question being asked.
Such a road would do well and if con-
t:trued north ten miles to 'Wroxeter to
the CPR, line there, and from Sea -
forth run to 'Bayfreid for summer re-
sort purposes a big summer traffic
would be assured and a good freight
and express trade through the twelve
months.

BRODHAGEN.
Loot Recovered at New Hamburg.
—Merchandise, valued at approxi-
mately $1,000 and stolen from the
general score of W. L. Querengesser
at Brodhagen early Tuesday morn-
ing, has all been recovered, although
the robbers were still at large on
Wednesday. The loot.was recovered
Tuesday night by provincial police in
a truck which had been removed to
a New Ramberg garage. The light
delivery truck, bearing Toronto
markers, which had been used to haul
away the merchandise, was wrecked
when it went into the ditch on .the
outskirts of New H'amburg. Chief of
