'Rev. Mr. Cousens of Clinton
preached to a large congregation here
on Friday night at preparatory ser-
vices; at this service fifteen of the
young people united with the church.
On, Sunday at the morning service
Rev. Mr. Howard, of Arcola, Sask.,
told of the great need in the West.
Rev. Mr. Howard comes from a sec-
tion of the West where they have had
no crops for a few years and this year
the grasshoppers in June stripped the
trees of their leaves.
A few weeks ago an appeal was
made to the women of the congrega-
tion and asking the community for
new clothing or goad second hand
clothing for the West.. No'danbt the
women will respond liberally and the
bale will be sent as soon as possible..
Miss Margaret Aikenhead of Lon-
don spent the week end with her par-
ents.
Miss Hazel Haugh, who has been
visiting at her home here, returned to
Toronto on Monday.
Mr. C. Haugh disposed of a valu-
able work horse to Mr. Galbraith of
Brussels.
