The Young People's ,League off the
United Church intend giving an en-
tertainment in the church on Fri'd'ay
evening, March 10th. (An excellent
program is being provided.
The death occurred on Thursday
morning at the home of her son, Mr.
Robert Cameron, of Mrs, ,Thomas
Cameron, in her 87'hh year, another of
Hensall's oldest residents. The de-
ceased, who was .well advanced• in
years, had been failing in health for
some time. She was a lifelong resi-
dent of Hensel and was held in high
esteem by all who knew her. Surviv-
ing are two sons, Robert, •of H+ensall,
John, of Georgetown, and Mis Nettie,
at home. T'h'e funeral, which was ,held
from the home of her son, Mr. Rob-
ert 'Cameron, on Saturday, was con-
ducted by Rev, W. A. Young and in-
terment took place in the Hensall.

.ganth, Geo. C. IPetty, 'Thos, "Shaddack,

The Young People's League of the
United Church held their regular
;meeting on Monday evening with the
president, Dr. 'Ser illue, in change. Alf -
ter the opening exercises an ins'tru'm-
ental was given by bliss Verde Wat-
son and a solo by Mrs, Maude Hed-
den, "When Mother Played the Or-
gan." 'The 'topic which was on "A
Tale of Two Cities," was given by
Dr. 'Smillie, which proved very inter-
esting and inspiring. The meeting
,closed with a hymen and the Mualpah
benediction.
The 'W.M S. of the ,United Church
held their meeting in the form of an
'entertainment on Friday evening last
in the b'ase'ment of .the ,church. A well
rendered program was given consist-
ing of the fallowing: duet, Mrs, Hed-
den and Mrs. iHsas; piano ,duet, by
Misses Irene Douglas and Helen
Glenn; duet, Mrs. A. Sinclair and
Miss Florence Welsh, accompanied
by Miss (Greta Laramie on the violin;

Mrs. A. Clark, Mrs. A. 'Sinclair,

'There passed away at his late home
on Thursday morning another- of
13eneall's well known residents in the
person of Robert MdLaren, .promtin-
eni't h'orseman and retired farmer. The
deceased was born on the farm now
occupied by his son, R. G. b'LcLaren,
just north of Hensall, some 75 years
ago and where he resided tip till a
few years ago when he and his wife
moved to I-Iens'all. He hada been in
goad health until -a few days before
his death, which came as a severe
shock to the co'mlmtmtty,' Besides his
bereaved ' widow he leaves to mourn
his loss one •datighter, Mrs. ,E. Glenn
of near Clinton, two sons, William A,
and Robert, both 1af Henslall and one
sister, Mrs. Wm 'Dougal, Sr,, of Hen-
sill. His son, John MclLaa-en,' 'was
killed in the Great War. The funeral

day night was a big success. There
was a good,crowd .present. The prizes

Mrs. Albert Rapson, who has been
in Seaforth Hospital for the last three
weeks, left the hospital the litter part
of fast week and is at present at the'
home of her uncle and. aunt in Sea -
forth but is expected to return home
the latter part of this week.
Mrs. Nelson Lear spent the week-
end with her sister, Mrs, Leo Watt
Mr. Harold 'Beacom had a vesy
successful wood -bee on Tuesday af-
ternoon.
'Mr. Audrey Knox is at present do-
ing the chores for Mr. Robert ;Watson
who is improvinig, but is not able to
be out at work yet. We hope Bob
will soon be 'feeling his usual self
again.
'Messrs. James and :John Leiper
were to (Gederich one day last week,
'Master Anthur Colson spent a few
days last week at the home of his
aunt and uncle, Mr, and Mrs. Menno
are working over time. If

endeavoring to secure , men at this
season of the year with the idea of
employing them through the summer
months if satisfied.
More interest is being'shown in
,Peel County in horses, owing to the
lo'w prices of farm products, and bid-
ding at auction s,ades am horses is
reported brisk,
'Eggs have been selling on the
!Rogersville ,market in Haldumand
County it Tele, '13e and 15c according
to grade. Egg dealers repont difficulty
in of the grade `extra,'' as
there is apparently a `cheap' complex
in the mind Of the consumer, causing
him to buy a cheaper product.
!Lincoln 'County reports that.vege-
table growers are getting their early
cash crops started in greenhouses and
there would appear to be at least the
usual acreage of cabbage, lettuce and
early tomatoes grown.
Livestock in 'Middlesex are in bet-
ter than average condition, most feed-
ers having ample ,feed to carry them
through the winter.
There is increased interest manifest
in the erad'ictiosa of - tuberculosis in
Norfolk 'County jud'gin'g 'by the num-
er of enquiries nd new entries under
bhe accredmted herd system.
In Wentworth there is a brisk de-
mand for good work horses on 'farms
at present and they are commanding
an, excellent price, first-class young
'horses 'selling from ($100 to $117'5 each.
'Custom hatcheries look for am in-
creased business in chicks for 1933.
There has been a 'movement . in
purebred livestock • in Peterborough
County, nine goad young 'bulls having
been purchased by farmers at prices
around '$'50 each.
Livestock generally is ,thinner in
Glengarry than usual dire to scarcity
of feeds as most farmers have been
feeding carefully.
In order to. give service to the far-
mers of 'Renfrew 'County, custom-
seed -cleaning prices at.the (Renfrew
plant are only about 'half what they
were last year.
