The annual Alt -More of the Sea-
ford. Collegiate I'ns't'it,ute, held Fri-
day in the Legion rooms, was a .most
successful and enjoyable event. The
evening was pleasantly spent in danc-
ing and bridge, ,gaod music being pro-
vided by , Tony Farr's orchestra of
Goderieih.' Pria'e:•winners were Miss
Kathleen Stewart and Mr. GIIen Hays
for lucky split dance, and Miss Me-
Ewan of Clinton, a birthday prize. A
dainty lunch was served.
LADIES' NIGHT
iTh'e fortnightly banquet of the
Lions' Club wia's held Monday even-
ing at ,the Commerloial Hotel, As this
was ladies' niglht, there was' a large

George A. Sills, for many years a
prominent hardware m'erchan't of
town, was, entertained by the mem-
bers of the S•eatorth Fire Brigade at.
a euchre held ‘in his Honor is rhe fire
h'a'll on Fridley evening, the o'cgasion
being Mr. Sill's 98th birthday: IR,r.
Sills has a record .uniq'ue in the his-
tory of fire brigades, having been a
member a'f the S'eaforth company for
a period of 58 years. He - has been
an active member since its organliza-
tioa in 11875, hlavin'g joined when !Sea -
forth was a village, and was' treasurer
during the later years. Mr. Sills was
one of the couplers in the 'fire teahn
w'h'ich established a world record in
K'in'cardine that has never been. equal-
led. A pleasing feature of the parity
was a presentation by John i4I1dK'en-
zie on behtalf of the S'ealforth Fire Bri-
gade to Mr. Silts of a handsome easy
chair.

Death of Gordon Hulley. - The
Community was saddened by the
death' of Mr. Gordon Oliver Hulley
at 'his home in MaKlillap at 8 p.m.
on Tuesday, Feb, 28, and deepest
sympathy is eaateuded to the bereav-
ed ones in their hour of sorrow. Mr.
Hulley had been in ill heallth far

realized thta't the end was approach-
